I'm coming down for another visit this weekend and hear its been very rainy.
What's the forecast for the next weeks? Do you have a web site that gives forecasts for the south coast? all I can find is Kingston and Mo Bay.
How is Great Pond holding up? And the Canal? Any flooding?
-Eric
Funny you should ask. I've just been out taking photos of the canal. Give me a bit of time and I will post them.
And yes, it is still raining. I am typing this in a very soggy state as a deluge got me while taking photos.
It was raining yesterday when we left Treasure Beach at about 10:00 am. It had rained very hard the night before (Tuesday). It had rained hard enough that there were wash outs along Frenchman's. There was one near Iggy's old place and another just to the north side of Golden Sands. Neither of these was very serious, but they had scoured out the sand about a foot deep.
Earlier in the week we walked down to the canal and it seemed to be taking in and absorbing some water from Great Pond. I'm sure Rebecca's pictures will show more. The smaller pond across from Jake's and behind Shaka-Zulu is quite high. It is spilling into the road that leads to Fisherman's, only leaving high spots as stepping stones. Several times during our visit the waters began to encroach onto the cement right in front of Fisherman's.
I forgot to add in my previous post that I've been using AccuWeather.com for weather forecasts. They have a listing for Treasure Beach.
I will be coming to st. elizabeth from Canada , how is the weather I heard it rains evryday
jenjen,
please refer to earlier posts!
Eric dont let the rain stop you ,i were in TB for four days and it did not stop me from doing any thing ,lets say its a kind rain it take a break ,given you time to work or play outdoor.Great Pond and the Canal look just the same ,but all the smaller pond are full .take some mosquito repellent.
I absolutely agree with denise. Yes, it rained while we were in Treasure Beach. We knew it was the rainy season and expected it. There was also sun every day we were there. We also went swimming and walking about just the same. We even went to Pelican Bar and missed a shower in Treasure Beach that we could watch from a distance. No amount of rain can stop you from having a wonderful time with the excellent people of Treasure Beach.
For what its worth, we got here Friday night to ehavy rain but have had 100% sunny skies since then. Great weather...guess we timed it just right.
