May I suggest Zim-what about some of the older people in Billys Bay. Would love to have them inteview these older people and let them tell us about life in Treasure Beach 80+ years ago- maybe Rebecca you should have an old folks month. interview a couple of old people and get some old history.
great idea. or maybe, TBnet or FYI Sandy Bank Primary would like to feature in there Profile decission Erol Powell, juuust thinking.
TBnet is right. Sandy Bank Primary decides the people who are featured. Please leave it to Sandy Bank Primary. Keep up the good work kids.
right on
I believe our website users can make a recommendation, to let TB residents see that we care about them and respect them enough to want to see them being profiled. I believe Carmel Moxam is a good candidate, and I hope a student from Sandy Bank could read this posting and choose Mrs. Moxam as the next person to profile.
bravo
It's nice to suggest aunt Carmel for profile of the month. My question is, how do we select profile of the month?.If I had a say in this, miss Vincy from Bluntas would be my choice. I did not see people for who they are when I was growing up. Now that I am older I look back and I see miss Vincy for who she really is. She is a woman with many different features. I admire two very important qualities about her, which are a mother and a wife. She raised many children and grand children. She had a hard life. Mass Wolda did not have much to give but they both struggle together and they did it with pride and grace. Her marriage to Mass Wolda is a perfect example of in good times and in bad times, those that God has joined together let no man separate. Love everybody in Treasure Beach. God bless
Pearl thanks for echoing this. Miss Vincy raised at least 17 children with so little and worked so hard, she is a true example of a proper mother and wife. May we see her profile, and maybe how she did what she did as I could not do it. Miss Vincy all the best to you and all those wonderful children you raised.
Pearl you are so right. Miss Vimsy is perfect for a profile. She is an example of a person who everyone could look up to. God bless you Miss Vimsy.
Thumb,s up to miss Vimsy i totally agree she would be the perfect picture.
Thank you Pearl for suggesting that Vincy be profile of the month. She is my grandmother who is fondly known as 'Mumma' to her family, and I'm sure she would be very pleased to hear such kind words being said about her. Mumma is a truly remarkable woman and an inspiration to all, I love her to bits. At the mention of my grandad Wolda or 'Papa' I miss you every day even though ten years has passed since you died. You have gone from our sights but not our hearts, God bless your soul.
Once again thank you all for your kind words.
also mr wulda.
Let us profile Zim from calabash bay. Good old soul!
To Rebica how is Zim doing.
so very true, and try to help everybody. God bless you Zim
I think miss Vincy should be profile of the month. She is an individual who can motivate young mothers and fathers to be strong courageous and keep the faith.
My cousin’s say grandmother to her and I know how much she cares for them, even in her old age after rising so many children. She truly knows how to give emotional support, likewise being there for all her children and grandchildren which is very important as I think lack of parental support have affected so many lives.
The greatest thing anyone can ever give is love and she has demonstrated such quality, she is remarkable.
I do not recognize any of the names mentioned here, but I have an idea based on what's being discussed: why not have a sort of "people's choice" (with TB Net's ok of course), wherein folks can nominate their person of the month? This would be an unofficial recognition and wouldn't interfere with the officially endorsed Profile Of The Month.
I would suggest aunt pearl uncle androw james wife she would know alot her house is right beside the post office.
I think one the James brother namely Alfred or Conley especially Alfred James should be the profile of the month. They have done a lot for the citizens in terms of transportation from back in dem old days when transportation was very, very limited and they had cars to take folks for their doctor's appointment especially the long Kingston runs, not to mentioned driving buses to take school children to school etc...... could go on and on, so in my opinion they deserved to be profiled one of these days.
As we state every time this topic comes up, the students at Sandy Bank Primary School are the ones who choose the Profile of the Month.
Scares me sometimes as to who is making teh choices.
School children scare you?
I thought it was the principal that made the choice. School children never scares me.
Forgive me Eric but I thought I read somewhere on this site that Mrs. Moxam actually chooses who will be profiled. I am not invested in who gets or does the choosing but just thought I read that recently.
There was a mistaken post by us (TBNet) which said it was the principal who made the decision. It was posted for about an hour before we discovered the mistake and removed it.
Apologies for any confusion.

All right then. TB Net makes the rules, states the rules, and then restates the rules. Done now, lets move on to the next subject everybody.
Shows some people have a lot of spare time on their hands!
Please don't over-kill the profile issue here. Let's change the subject and discuss an issue such as Putin dissolving the Russian Government.
Many thanks
Thanks 2 cents for claryfing what was posted.
Auntie Pearl Ms Vincy is an exceptional choice. It would be fitting to see her as profile of the month as i think sometimes we as people forget the good old elders. Miss Vincy as far as i can remember is a remarkable woman who did what she had to do to provide for her big family, thank God everybody is now grown and are able to do for her what she struggled so hard to do for them.
I also think that a good choice would be Ms Dytelyn, cus cus mother.
Gentle People, TBNET has been very effective in serving the greater Treasure Beach and outlying districts, in keeping us abreast with events and happenings and going ons. Please rest the profile issue. Out of consideration for the same individuals you are recommending, stop making suggestions as to who should be profiled. Ever heard of the expression "Enough is enough."
thank you, hope we would all use this site for more productive topic
Does anyone know if Treasure Beach has a Spiritual Retreat Centre? God Bless T/B as we keep focus on the Universe in all areas of our lives.
Well said Terry!
