Until Dean hit, it was clear that all checks being received for Treasure Beach Foundation were for the Scholarshp Fund (and villa raffle tickets). Little did we know Dean would hit Treasure Beach when we started the villa raffle. If you are going online for either the Scholarship Fund or the Emergency Relief Fund at http://www.rainbowtreevillas.com/foundation.html, the reports we get make it clear how you want your money used -- the yellow button is for Dean, and the pink is for the Scholarships. If you are sending a check, please clearly indicate for what purpose you intend it. (We are uncertain about one check that came in yesterday, and we fear we'll receive more in the uncertain category.) If you've already sent your check but didn't say what it was for, please e-mail me and tell me. I want to be clear we are following your wishes. Also, some of you have not put an e-mail address and phone number with your villa raffle check; if you win, how will we notify you? Again, if you think you may be one of those people, please send me an e-mail. (For privacy's sake, I do not wish to list names of anyone who sent a check.)

Villa raffle checks and online ticket purchases must be here by next Friday. That's only one week from today.

May I ask how the collections are coming for the raffle and also the relief efforts. We are very worried about our dear Treasure Beach.

Our collections are coming along quite well. But we still need more, most especially for the emergency hurricane relief. I know people are starting to feel a bit besieged by all the requests for money for natural disasters -- from Peru to Ohio -- but Treasure Beach needs your help. Even if you can send only $10, it will be greatly appreciated.

We sent a small check for the raffle and will now also send a small one for the hurricane relief fund. Wish we could afford to do more.
