Any news on the Newell School Reunion? Wasn't it slated for sometime this week?

Due to the political tension that currently exists in the island, the decision was taken by the past students to postpone the reunion until Saturday, October 13, 2007.
The past students would like to apologise to you all for any inconvenience that this may cause. The association looks forward to the continued support of its past students to the development of the school.

I second that...."What political tension?" Forgive me if I am incorrect but Why wasn't something said about the postponement before now? Am I to take it that this was all talk and no action? My-oh- my!!!!

Well, let's hope past student travelling from abroad did not book flights. I am sure some did.

The election

I can't imagine the election being the reason, unless many are busy campaigning and preparing for the election.

From the forum, I was informed that the Newell Secondary-High school reunion has been postponed, this is a step in the right direction.
The 28th of July 2007 was too sudden, poor planning on the committee, the only bad thing is, there are those of us who book our flights, rent cars and hotel reservation.....Money wasted.
The next time we planned this event, please let us involved the forum.

John I do not understand your reasoning.Were you informed about the postponement before I posed the question? I cannot remember seeing anything posted on the net regarding this matter. What exactly do you mean when you say the 28th was too sudden. This date has been decided on for quite some time. What do you mean when you say that next time we plan this event we should involve the forum? What forum are you talking about?

Newite,I post my view about the postponement and I havent seen it. I dont think I said anything bad. I said it was totally unacceptable to postpone the reunion and nobody knows about it until you asked. Also I know people going who booked their fares from a long time and was very excited.

Newite sorry poor planning, why don't we plan the reunion for for 2008 Easter or Summer.

I am so sorry i will not be able to be with that pass student reunion it really hearts. anyway i hope it will not postpone again love my past school
