The next villa raffle will be held toward the end of the summer. It will be a very special package because it will include far more than the one-week villa accommodations.
If you participated in our last raffle and none of your information has changed (e-mail address and regular postal mailing address), you will be sent a notice so you can have an opportunity to buy a raffle ticket. If your information has changed, just notify us by hitting the link (click on my name) and sending an e-mail.
If you have not previously bought a raffle ticket, I urge you to provide me with your information so you will receive a notice. (We need you name, regular mailing address, and e-mail address.) Doing this does not mean you have to buy a ticket; it merely means you will be told about the raffle.
Yes, yes, yes, we also really need donations above and beyond what we are able to raise through the raffle. You can send a check or make an online donation at any time. Contributions in any amount will be gratefully accepted. (Go to www.rainbowtreevillas.com/foundation for easy “how to” information.)
Which villa is going to be raffled or is that a secret for now?
The particular villa to be raffled is going to remain a mystery for now. Sorry about that ...
Good news, however: We are going to try to do two different raffles in 2008. So, if you're not already on the notifications list, please sign up.
Have you ever considered a raffle for a hotel? I am merely curious because there is certainly no lack of lovely villas in Treasure Beach.
Sorry, Cynthia, I don't follow your meaning.
The raffle is for a free week at a villa with proceeds going towards the scholarship fund.
There's only one 'hotel' in TB and I don't know if they are participating in the scholarship raffle.
I know Treasure Beach Hotel is a hotel but is Jakes not considered a hotel? What about Marblue? If they are, that means there are 3 hotels in TB. Definitely not intending to argue with Eric. Just confused.
I see your point about other 'hotels'. I guess I'm arguing over semantics on this. And since its a silly point to make, I'll withdraw it.
Karen you are just so naughty!!! Teasing us like this!!!!! Can't wait to hear all the details. I'm so looking forward to not only getting the opportunity to help the children be successful though scholarships but the chance of a free trip ROCKS! Maybe we could develop a small poster people could post at their jobs to encourage even more ticket sales. Let me know what I can do to help.
Lynette, this is a great idea. I'd be happy to post something about the raffle at work, at school and at church. I could try to make a flyer, but I have only basic tools (Publisher), so if someone can make a more glossy, glam flyer, that would probably attract more attention.
Connie
When we announce the upcoming raffle, we will also post it in a format that people with a printer (color) can print out as a small, attractive poster to display or distribute or send to their friends via e-mail. This would be extremely appreciated. Anything anyone can do to encourage more ticket sales would be absolutely wonderful.
Thank you, ladies!
Any chance this raffle is coming up soon?
The Long Answer, Patty: We have the villa and the other things that will be part of the next winner's package. The delay in promoting the raffle has to do with making the flyer -- and more importantly, assembling a good mailing list. Yes, I have volunteers who have offered to pitch in and help; but it still requires a huge amount of my time. Unfortunately, over the last month, I've had little extra time except what was necessary to devote to the new crop of scholarship winners.
The Short Answer: We are hoping to start the next raffle sometime in August.
The scholarship winners must feel very lucky to have you working so hard for them. I very much admire what you do.
thanks for the reply - and take your time!
(I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything :-)!!
Karen - I am interested in being a part of the villa raffle, but not sure how? Could you email me the procedure please,at chesdjralph@yahoo.com. Thank-you!
mainerfromaway:
Karen posts information about raffles here when they are ready. The best way to keep informed about this is to keep checking periodically for your chance to participate.
-TBNet
To Mainerfromaway: You have two choices. Keep checking on TB.net for announcements. Or, e-mail me your information; this would include your name, "real" (postal) mailing address, and e-mail address. The best, I think, would be to do both. If I have your info, you will definitely get a notice about the raffle as well as other events that are in the planning stages. And, as TB.net is such an excellent source of Treasure Beach news about so many subjects, you should continue to check it often.
