Mmmmmm, Nickell and I had the pleasure of dining at The Riverside Dock in Black River a few days ago and I was so impressed with the food, I have to give it a plug. This restaurant is located right on the river. You can watch the crocs swim by as you eat. We spotted two while there.

The menu is great and the food superb. Nickell had shrimp with coconut rundown and I had chicken callaloo cordon bleu with gorgonzola cheese. Our plates were so full of food, we both took home enough for dinner.

The executive director is Kathy Charlebois who used to own The Tradewinds in Ochie and a few other places both here and abroad. So good to have her here!

Can't wait to go back and work my way thru the menu and I would highly recommend it to others.

They used to have mainly Chinese food and it was very good and was fair priced. What kind of food is on their menu now? What about pricing? Is it open for lunch and dinner? What days is it open?

The menu is an eclectic international blend. Offering pizza, appetizers, great salads, chicken, seafood, beef and pork dishes served with choice of rice and peas or fabulous garlic mashed potatos.

I had a calamari appetizer and it was scrumptous.

Prices range from $500 JA to about $1200 for a surf and turf meal.

Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

it doesnīt appear too good a sign to me when a restaurant offers a too wide range of food....
frequently they are run out of this... or donīt have that ...or..... :-)

Carolyn Barrett tipped us off to the re-opened Riverside Dock and we've been recommending it to
guests for some time. Formerly an incredible
Chinese/Jamaican/Japanese restaurant with a huge menu that was always fulfilled, the new bill of fare is nowhere as diverse -- just a different
way of looking at Jamaican produce and recipes.
It's a refreshing change from the usual, now that Culloden Cafe is no more, and an alternative to
Sister Lou's upriver for crab.

Congrats also due to Chef/Owners Axel and Andrea Wichterich at Mar Blue for their second year in a row win at the annual Jamaica Gleaner awards for 'Most Innovative Food'.

Why are you always so negative Fish Tea?

Fish Tea
What do you mean by your comment? Are you implying that Rebecca was promoting the restaurant for her own gain? Sometimes I really don't understand you people. Here is a person that puts her blood and sweat into this website and the community of Treasure Beach and who promotes all the products or services she thinks are good, WITHOUT, financial benefit and you come with your nonsense. What's the matter with you? Why don't you provide Treasure Beach with a good service, invite her to participate and see what happens. I only hope I misinterpreted your posting seeing as your grammar made it difficult to read.

Fish Tea, it sounds like (but can't be sure from your grammar/spelling) that you are saying Rebecca does not do anything to support local (TB) business.

Forgive me if I have your intention wrong, but is that what you really believe? If so, could you elaborate on why you feel this way? It seems the opposite from what one sees here re: all the pictures she posts on local events, messages posted here which she delivers to locals, and the very fact that this site exists to allow businesses to advertise to people around the world.

Well, I really never thought a simple restaurant recommendation would stir up all this. I guess my love for good food got me in trouble again!

Fish Tea, I am not sure I understand your meaning so I don't want to comment until I am clear. If you have a point to make with me, please email me at treasuretours@cwjamaica.com as I would love to hear exactly what you meant.

Thanks to the others for supporting me and my dedication to this community.

However, I really to not want to see a thread which was meant to let folks know of another good restaurant out there turn into another debate on he said she said. So I am asking everyone to just leave it at that and concentrate on more positive subject matters, like the wonderful scholarships just awarded those deserving students.

As for frogs legs, gator and croc tails . . . well, I've never eaten frogs legs, but hear they are tasty. I have eaten both crocodile and alligator meat while I was working in Puerto Rico and they both tasted, frankly, like chicken.

Enjoy the day and every precious moment it holds.

Thank you TB and Curious for your very kind words. They were much appreciated. I have not posted them as I feel they were personal and should stay private.

Again, sincere thanks.
