Greetings all!
My new wife and i will be spending our honeymoon at Marblue in Treasure Beach July 9-16. I really like the direction you folks are going with your town and your approach to tourism. We are looking forward to exploring your town and beaches!
I want our honeymoon to be memorable for my bride. She is a very special woman! We are both educators here in the states and want to bring our experiences back to our classrooms.

Is anyone out there up for suprising my wife?
Not sure how but I thought maybe you folks would have some ideas. We look forward to meeting some local folks while we are there. See you soon!

Take a boat ride up the Black River on our beautiful Caribbean Sea from Treasure Beach - see the Crocodiles; Pelican Bar in the sea as well - just ask for one of our Boat Tour Men e.g. Neailly. Check out YS Falls in St. Elizabeth - Great!

All you will find in Treasure Beach is "local". It is a quiet, rural little area. In each of the four Bays you will find local cookshops with food and music. In Frenchman you will have late night music and fun at the Fisherman Bar, Great tunes and ambiance at Jakes or Sunset Resort, pool games and tunes at South Jamming, good conversation and gathering at Bobby's "Natural Vibes", and on and on. Everywhere you go, you will be met with warm smiles and good conversation. Live entertainment is not a fixed thing in Treasure Beach. Sound systems and bashments come through the area every now and then, but you will more likely find "large party", live music outside of Treasure Beach. There is no shortage of music in Treasure Beach, don't get me wrong... there is music everywhere you go, just not a lot of live music on a consistent basis.

You and your wife will have fun, don't worry!

Go for a walk on the beach. Nothing more romantic than lovers holding hands and frolicking.

Definitely go to Bluefields on the way in from Montego Bay, or on the way back out... it is a lovely Sunday afternoon, family beach. Great, blue, calm water for swimming. And a great community, family atmosphere. Good food and fun for a day (or afternoon). It is about a halfway point to or from Montego Bay, and it is actually on the main road, you do not have to go off the beaten path to find Bluefields.

Driving in Ja only requires confidence first and patience second and you will be fine. After a day of driving you'll wonder why you had apprehensions and anxiety. Treasure Beach is an incredibly magical place, I say this as a person who travels the world extensively. You will have a honeymoon of substance, good times and great memories that have a depth beyond "a travel agent all inclusive honeymoon package". I guarantee that you will be touched by the people you meet and the relationships formed. Maybe you and your wife and the well wishing authors on this site will cross paths on either this or a future visit. Wishing you the best honeymoon.

Hire a driver. You'll be much less stressed and be able to enjoy the scenery.

The next time you come, consider driving yourself. You'll have a better idea of what it really entails.

I agree...hire a driver. I'm Jamaican and travel the length and breadth of this island and it's a challenge. Mind you, you become and expert at pothole dodging, blind navigation, and fine tuned depth perception. Compare it to a video game where you have to navigate all manner of obstructions to get to the prize.

I agree with Eric. you will enjoy the sights more if you can look out the window, and let your driver look out for the road. TB is a great place. Makes for good marriage.Tom and Jeanie

I thank you again for all of the advice. I do like the freedom that having a car will give us. Im really looking forward to get out into the mountains and have a look around and find those litle hidden gems that make Jamaica so special. Other things im looking forward to: the music, the food, the people, the solitude, pelican bar, black river, crocs.

If anyone here would like to get together while we are down there drop me a line!

Go up to "Treasure Hut" (I think it used to be called Treasure View Hotel) for a good meal on the way up to Southfield - the view is much more beautiful and vast than what you will see at Lover's Leap and you don't have to pay for the view. Nice Breeze, lovely spot. Always one of my favorite dinner spots, and not far from T.B. It is just before you reach Southfield if you are looking at a map of Jamaica.

I agree that a trip to Treasure View Hotel is a must do, as I did for New Years Eve.I strongly suggest keeping your plan to drive, it allows you freedom and flexibility and is the most cost effective way of seeing the south coast and the rest of the island.get a map from the closest jamaican consulate or at the Mobay airport tourism desk. The key to driving Jamaica is stopping people on the road and asking for directions to the next town along the way to your final destination. Most people are very helpful. Another interesting place to visit is Farquoh(some such spelling). Follow the signs from little Ochie to Milk River/Bath. Stop and have a radioactive bath @Milk Bath then continue the road as it ends in this fishing village as the rest of the road was completely washed away. There you can hire a boat, my captain was Leonard Livingston, who took me in his fishing boat to the mouth of Alligator and Milk Rivers(where the rivers meet the sea). There you will see beautiful gold glistening black sand and find the most incredible shells. Faroquah is a fishing village full of cook stalls that feature fish on the menu. should you want to be adventurous, a drive to the North Coast is excellent. I suggest going to Oracabessa and a stay @ Golden Seas Hotel(can be booked using Expedia for best rates), get a room on the ocean, a beautiful secluded spot not far from Ocho Rios and Dunn's River Falls makes a great overnight after visiting the Falls. If you drive to Lover's Leap may I suggest you have lunch at Ocean Breeze Inn and Suites(call ahead to have lunch prepared for you) 876-965-6000. You can dine privately overlooking Lover's Leap and the Caribbean Sea. A trip to YS Falls is also nice. You and your bride will have a great honeymoon whatever you decide to do because it will be in one of the earth's most beautiful place, JA. :-)
