As you will see announced in the What's New section, there is a new bicycle tour available from the top of the Santa Cruz Mountains down to the bottom.

Before recommending any tour, Treasure Tours likes to check it out first hand. To that end, we loaded up Kenny's bus with the crew on Wednesday and were off to the top of the mountain.

What a great day!!! We met up with the Blue Mountain Bicycle Tours team in Retirement where they gave us an orientation, gears and bikes. And then we were off . . .

The bikes have good brakes, nice wide seats, and it was all downhill. This translated into nothing being sore the next day. We enjoyed cool breezes, spectacular views, and a great tour from Chippie pointing out various flora, fauna and local history along the way.

At the end of the ride, we were treated to delicious jerk chicken and cold drinks followed by an informative tour of the butterfly farm. Getting acquainted with the ostriches was loads of fun as they are a peculiar looking lot.

The Treasure Tours team would like to give special thanks to Althea, Claressa, Ellis and Chippie at Blue Mountain Bicycle Tours and Mark Panton and crew at the Butterfly Dreams Farm for showing all of us true Jamaican hospitality.

We've been on day trips and adventures before, but at the end of the day we all decided this was the best yet!

Wow, Rebecca, great pictures and it looks like a great tour.

Talk about a good addition to the area...a non-polluting activity to get people some exercise while seeing the countryside, flora and fauna at a pace where one can enjoy and truly appreciate it.

Good luck to all involved.

(And Sylvan, looks like you need to practice getting those Red Stripes down...I'll be down to help you practice soon)
