Does anyone know how the waste from Tranquility Bay is processed? Someone told me that their facility does not have proper sewage disposal (adequate septic tanks for the number of residents) which means they are sending sewage into the sea. Could this be true or is it merely a rumor?
I heard the same thing, but it may be a rumour.
OH MY DEAR GOD, PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS A RUMOUR!
This may be true i've passed a few times and see drain pipes going to the sea but it could be from the kitchen.
either way it's not good waste is waste
well i hope it's not true.
waste from anywhere going into the sea should be dealt with immediately and fines should be imposed to the fullest. This we have to see for ourselves and trust me we will.
I have seen the pipes and I do believe there is some form of waste for the facility going into the sea. Bad, very bad indeed.
With all the environmental activity going on in Treasure Beach, has Green Globe or any interested group of persons attempted to put pressure on Tranquility Bay? I stayed in a villa in TB not long ago, and I was impressed with the many things I saw that seemed to be genuine efforts to be kinder to the environment. However, all those efforts could well be negated by this one facility because of its population size. Rebecca, do you have any words of wisdom for the many readers of this column?
If this is true, it is gross, and it should not be allowed.
Just out of interest, does anyone know what happens to the waste and sewerage output from all the homes, businesses, guesthouses, etc. in the whole of the Treasure Beach community?
Everyone seems to be in agreement that any untreated waste, regardless of the source,
is a bad thing to put into the sea.
However, as it is still just a rumor regarding
Tranquility Bay we are closing this thread to new messages unless they are able to prove
the rumor true or false.
Would anyone care to take on the responsibility of determining the truth in this matter?
