How about a 20/20 competition?

Here's an idea, coming out of the Cricket World Cup: There has been a renewal of interest in the game, and with that comes the opportunity to stage new competitions, which, in turn, would keep many more young people positively engaged.
St. Elizabeth is still one of the strongest cricket parishes in the country, and could easily sustain a 20/20 version of the game. That version is fast and exciting and would attract many new converts, including some of our visitors, even, if properly organised and promoted.
Is there room for private sponsors to come in?
The Social Development Commission, or the Sports Development Foundation could also be approached.
I'm not 'assigning' this task to anyone in particular. It is just an idea that I believe could be pursued.
Feel free to share your thoughts!

Great idea! The concept could be tied in with a number of areas including tourism, a Treasure Beach Homecoming or St.Elizabeth Homecoming and a interschool competition. Funding in my opinion is the main draw back.It would be good if some assistance could be sort from the tourism sector, bauxite sector, SDC or benevolent interest to provide the needed support.Undoubtedly, talent abounds and the people of St.Elizabeth are ardent supporters of this wonderful game. The rewards of that kind of promotion could have far and lasting gains in terms of development for the area.
