to brooklyn n.y. the transportion in treasure beach is good. there are taxis minutely from treasure beach to black river. you mention transportion in jamaica, cant give account for the whole island, but i guess it is better than the days we were there, most people has their own transport and travel in style.

After my abidance in Billy´s Bay in April i want to go to the area of Long Bay (Manchiaoneal) or Port Antonio. Do i have to go there by route taxi and to change many times, or is there a bus which goes straight to Kingston?

I've been reading these 'just step out your front door and a taxi will be waiting' posts and wondering what part of St. Bess they're talking about. I've certainly had to wait for long periods of time, and not only on Sundays. I do agree that things have gotten better after the government relaxed car import rules in the 90s, but it can still be a pain.

Do others feel the same way about the taxi service available in the area?
