Twenty-nine students from the University of Virginia will be in Treasure Beach to assist at Sandy Bank Primary School. They will be working with students in grades three, four, five, and six starting Monday, March 5. These students have chosen to do this instead of going on a "regular" spring break to party like so many college students do at this time of the year. They have worked very hard to earn money to pay for their trip.

This is the third year we have been fortunate enough to have a group from U VA come to assist in the community.

The 29 students were selected from almost 200 applicants; several of those coming were in Treasure Beach last March, also helping out at Sandy Bank.

In addition, they are bringing donations for the Treasure Beach Women's Group. So, residents should be watching for a special sale -- probably starting several days after the students arrive. (This will be announced separately by the TBWG.)

The 29 are staying at 4Ms, Fairhill, and Shakespeare. When you see them walking on the road, please give them a big welcome to let them know how grateful you are that they chose to come and assist.
