I visit your website often since I found out about this and must congratulate you and your team for the wonderful job you are doing. It is very informative and we pray St.Elizabeth will always remain a safe place for visitors

I also come across the Ad about the selection for Hollywood.I can assure you I am one of the people this competition gave the opportunity to showcase my Talent in front of people from about 50 countries including some of the Caribbean Islands.I spoke to people from the School Of Film & Television whose seminars are among the best. They teach you what to do when you go on auditions,I also spoke to people from MTV who were there casting.I managed to network with a lot of people not to mention the South African Team who has great talents coming from the African region.I saw people from countries who made the competition so culturally different. I spent a week in Hollywood at this prestigious event where I was able to speak one on one with people from the Industry and left my portfolio with them.
I met and spoke with people who without this event I could not even approach their office doors.I am now living a very successful life and living my dreams in Beverly Hills Ca.I agree with the person who posted his opinion on this yes you have to check things out and there is upfront expenses but these people don't run a company with a staff who are good at doing voluntary work they must be paid and no one gets a good education without paying for it, so why do you think if you want to excel as an artist you don't have to pay.You pay to go to studios to do your demos there is an image consultant, photographers, hair and make up plus a host of other things and you think this all comes without upfront expense?
My parents knew how to prepare me, and even in Jamaica voice and acting lessons cost a lot.I am sure no one goes to Edna Manley for free!!I did the competitions at JCDC and that helped to hone my skills but after all those gold medals I was still sitting in Jamaica wondering how do I get to the next level until this competition gave me that opportunity.
Do your homework but doing that competition gives you the biggest and greatest exposure you could imagine. It works for me and others but then "only your doubts of today can prevent your success of tomorrow" I am also Caribbean Native and would like others to join me here but only you can fail yourself and if you have a dream whether it is in the Entertainment field or otherwise go for it.Life is always a risk!! driving a car on a busy highway or even in your local neighbourhood is one of the biggest risk if you stop to think of accidents but for some reason because of the conveience of doing so or the sole purpose of getting to a job everyday you take that risk!!

Succesful WCOPA contestant!!!

Having worked with Wilhemina, Ford, Casablancas, Avedon and most of the top model agencies/shooters, this 'opportunity' is as bogus as it gets.

Opportunity as bogus as it gets

I am a past contestant and I can write a book and others with what we go through with people who instead of helping us only think of themselves and give companies a bad name .If all of us as contestants get together and inform you of things we go through with our own people who are recruiters, then you would wonder why it takes a few people to try and give our people a bad name.Nothing is wrong with these companies it's the people who as the writer says becomes "bogus"

Thanks to companies who find out the "bogus people" and get rid of them fast.I can now highly recommend our recruiter in Jamaica who thinks first and foremost about the contestants and ways she can help them.We have never had anyone like her who has gone the extra mile to help us!! Thanks to Mrs.Anicia Browning Thomas!! She shows there are still caring Jamaicans!!!!

It may not gave worked for you but it worked for many. You may have chosen the people to work for and found it was "bogus" Did you do anything to report them? and if you did not,THEN WORKING FOR THEM YOU WERE PART OF THE "BOGUS OPPORTUNITY" AND LOVED IT I GUESS AS YOU WERE ALSO COLLECTING!!
There are a lot of people who never have the contestants interest at heart but just how much they can profit from this, by increasing fees for their own gain so of course upfront expenses are ridiculously high,by so doing they taint companies names, also collect sponsorship funds and use it for their own benefits. We know about them, and contestants can write a book with what they go through just trying to get to the competition.
Allow people to make their own decisions. Not everyone is bogus!!!! WCOPA gets rid of people who they also consider "BOGUS"

TivertonHouse? Do you even have a clue about the World Championships, all I have seen you post is negative things and none of it is true. You are like the fox that called the grapes sour, Why do you try to be negative and coveteous, it WONT HELP YOU IN THE LING RUN. Anyone with sense will d their home work and see what the Championships is about, its NOT ALL ABOUT MODELLING, its about the performing Arts and of course, you will have persons who will be selective in visiting for one reason or another, those names you have mentioned have their own way of recruiting persons FOR MODELLING, IF YOU ARE IN THE PERFORMING ARTS THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO START, LOOK AT ANA AND SAMANTHA STRACHAN!!!!!!need I say more.
