Hi, everyone,
I have (after about two and a half years of talking about the joys of TB) convinced my very travel shy brother to join me on my trip this June. I'm really happy that he's agreed to come with me, but I'm a little worried, too. I know he's interested in visiting the Pelican Bar after hearing me talk about it so much, and I know he wants to go on the Black River tour. Here's my worry: my brother is a BIG man. He's 6'7" and weighs anywhere from 350 to 375 pounds. Perhaps it is wrong for me to worry, but can the stairs at Pelican Bar handle that kind of weight? And will he have trouble with the boats as far as maybe making them ride pretty low in the water? The last thing he needs is to have a mishap to scare him off travel again! Any info is welcome.

Just to let you know that i was at the pelican bar today and i saw a guy he must have been weighing over four hundred pounds.Everything was pretty good.Going up the step may seems impossible at times but its very strong.Also the captains that operate there are very capable.And helpful.
No trouble with the boats.we carry persons this size all the time.

Can we contact you when we get to TB this summer? We'll definitely be doing the Black River, Pelican Bar trip. And maybe out to Little Ochie, too.

That really is good info. I'm glad you asked that question Connie. I'm sure there are lots of fluffy folk out there whose minds are at ease now. I've often thought twice about doing certain things.
