Hi, I am now a daily reader of this forum and really enjoy it.
As I am coming to stay in April, I am wondering what the quality of drinking water is like in tb?
Can tourists drink the tap water or do I need to stock up on bottled water? If so, can bottled water be purchased in tb or rather in Black River or Jundtion?
Do locals drink the tap water or only from rainwater tanks?
Happy to learn,
thanks,

Aussigirl

Many a child drinks the water direct from the pipes.............sometimes its cloudy and white with the clorine yet the water authority prides itself in delivering healthy water...wherever it can be delivered..and when the water is delivered. Of course sometimes there are occasions when the water runs slow or not at all but other than hurricane ivan when there was no water here for around three weeks in pla

Jamaica - land of wood and water!

The water is perfecty safe to drink here due to the large amount of limestone rock found underground. Limestone rock is very porus and one of nature's best filtration systems.

Bottoms up!

The water is generally safe to drink. Its usually pretty high in chlorine content which can affect taste and, long term, may cause some adverse health effects (some studies link it to fertility problems, etc).

"Montezuma's Revenge" (runny belly) is usually not a problem.

but that coconut water, Sorrel and not forgetting a rum punch or three.
