Why were the comments concerning the recent arrests at Great Bay deleted? I think an open discussion about what goes on at Treasure Beach is what people are interested in. Where in Great Bay did the smugglers land?

No comments were deleted in that thread. Did you click on the button, "new in the last week"?

The men arrested in the guns for drugs scandal were all fishermen looking to make a quick buck irrespective of the nature of the gain. Poverty driving them to the worst.
Luckily the rum drunk men were bragging of their ill gotten gains long, long time before the arrests and it is of no surprise that the police got wind of their actions for most of the village knew and it was via an 'informant' that the police struck.
The residents do not condone this kind of illicit action and were very willing to let Kingfisher know. Great Bay is a beautiful, irie village and it was the community who let the police know of the ignorance of the men in seeking financial gain via illegal actions
No one has any sympathy for the criminals. Most are GLAD. Great Bay is a safe place. Come and enjoy.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PEOPLE OF GREAT BAY FOR NOTIFYING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THIS ACTION.I HOPE THIS WILL HELP TO PUT A STOP TO ALL ILLEGAL ACTIONS NOT JUST IN GREAT BAY BUT ON BEHALF OF ALL OF TREASURE BEACH AND SURROUNDIND AREAS.
WE HAVE SEEN SO MUCH CHANGES GOING ON AND IT WILL ONLY GET WORST IF WE ALL SIT STILL AND DO NOTHING TO HELP.THIS IS OUR COMMUNITY WE SHOULD ALL UNITE TO KEEP IT SAFE IN EVERY WAY FOR US AND OUR CHILDREN.
CONGRATULATIONS ON BEHALF OF THE SANTA CRUZE PD.

News like this coming out of our beautiful home is extremely disgusting. When i heard of this happening in other part of the island it hurts but hearing this about Treasure Beach cuts like a knife. Those who are responsible for this disgusting act should never get the opportunity to see the light of day again.
I don't care what desperation led them to do this; as far as i am concern this is out of greed, the more they get is the more they want. Why can't we all work for our honest living and leave people with what is rightfully theirs? Those same weapons could have caused the lives of your family, my family or even mine and yours.
I would not be surprise if some or all of these men will be back on the streets very soon, thanks to money and contacts as this is what run Jamaica.

Amen. Keep these disgusting criminals under lock and key forever. We do not need such persons ruining our sweet community. People who want money should do what the others do: work for it in an honest manner.

Crime in Jamaica is too much of a subjective thing. It depends on who does the crime, whether or not that person is your enemy or friend. If it is your enemy then he should be hanged or shot by the police without question. If it is your friend or you personally don’t feel threatened, then “bway, da guy de tough”, he is a hero. Until we can look at crime more objectively and condemn every criminal act, regardless of the persona behind it, then we are not really serious. We also need to remember that crime is not a poor man thing, it crosses all borders. When all criminals are punished, without fear or favor by the justice system, whether they are from Kingston, Great Bay or Hanover, then we can ALL jump and shout.

For those of you who are celebrating, your time will come. Kindly look in your own backyard because none are without sin. Drugs and theft are what have given some of you what you have (big house etc). I am sorry my nephew got caught up in a bad situation and I pray for my nephew, and my family in Great Bay, but we will keep up and get through this and the next time will belong to someone else. So you Great Bay resident who is afraid to print your name are you ashamed? Take Care

Why should we be ashamed, afraid yes because there may be many more in here. Maybe the reason why you and yours are so offensive is because that is the way you got what you have. The upholder is as bad as the rogue.....

Oh yes, we all know about the fancy mansions 'you guys' own both in the US and TB. And STOP acting so surprised.

It is really a shame to see what is happening. It is all about greed, but nothing good last forever, and too much of everything is not good. "All the mansions and fancy cars will get you nowhere but in jail or dead.

Who organised the venture?

Where were the guns destined to go?

What were the guns to be used for?

What is the path of the guns from manufacturer

via? and to Jamaica?

Who profits from this venture? Directly or

indirectly?

Are the boatmen hardened criminals or 'normal'

guys that got caught trading weapons of death.

Is it known or is it assumed that the guns were

traded for unlicensed natural products?

Is there widespread resentment at the conspicuous

display by some who it is thought are or were

involved in similar ventures?

Are these people looked at with genuine respect

or with fear or some sort of mangled respect?

Can we count on the local rule and enforcers of

law to deal with this?
