Year-End Donations Needed

Treasure Beach Foundation needs additional donations to continue to expand our Scholarship Program.

We would like to make the program available to more students. And, we want to implement other ideas—all of which will assist deserving students receive important educational opportunities that were closed to them because of lack of finances.

You can either write a check and mail it prior to December 31—or go online to donate via https://secure.groundspring.org/dn/index.php?aid=11258. Supporters in the U.S. who donate by December 31 will get an added bonus: the ability to deduct your donation on your 2006 taxes under I.R.S. regulations.

If you wish to write a check, please make it payable to Treasure Beach Foundation. Mail it to:

Treasure Beach Foundation
11124 Rich Meadow Drive
Great Falls, VA 22066-1415

Contributions in any amount will be gratefully accepted.

Thank you in advance for your generosity on behalf of the children of Treasure Beach.

Hi Jacquie,

Thanks for asking. Yes, we accept cheques from UK bank accounts. About the only type of cheques we've had problems depositing (but still managed to) were travellers cheques.

Can I contribute in someone else's name? I am interested in donating, but I would like to have my mother receive some sort of gift card or acknowledgement for what I donate.

Hi Rhonda,

If you care to contribute on behalf of someone else (such as your mother), just give us the person's name and address (and perhaps their relationship to you); we will gladly send them a letter telling them that a donation was made in their name and explaining to what use it will be put. Or, if you wish to contribute in memory of someone who has passed away, just tell us who in the deceased's family should be notified and we will send them a letter telling them of your donation. FYI, we do not tell "on behalf of" on "in memory of" people the dollar amount of your donation.

If you mail a check, include this information with your check. If you go online to donate (see my Dec. 20 information above), there is a place where you can include the same info.

I realize it is late to do this for Christmas this year (though don't forget upcoming birthdays and other special occasions), but a contribution in someone else's name does not even have to be made for a specific purpose. It is a great gift for the "person who has everything."

Karen

TBNet I sent a posting on 21st Dec regarding making a donation, hoping Karen et al would be able to answer my query-it never appeared.
