Treasure Beach people, I just want you and all your visitors to know, how much I love and appreciate ya'll.I will never forget Rebeca Especially for the inspiration she gave me.She came to Jamaica, became a citizen, And is doing wonderful.I left beautiful Treasure Beach Jamaica and came to the united states where Rebecca is from ,only in another state.I decided I wanted to be like Rebecca and now i'm not exactly like her, but I am proud to say close to her.I've become a loving caring person to senior citizens. They appreciate me so much that I can't handle enough jobs i'm being offered. Now I have no choice but to open a home health agency also a nurse aid school where we I teach people the skills.Have them sit the state exam and get certified.I do this course free of cost, when the students graduate I hire them and they do their job well.Treasure Beach people if i didn't love and care about you so much I would'nt care less, but I learn to love and care from you all. That's why i'm who I am,and that's why I do what I do. I love you all from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you so very much for the compliment, however, it sounds like you are doing much better than me. Just think of all the love and professional care so many persons are receiving and will receive due to your high level of training.

Congratulations to you and I wish you continued success!

Dear Caregiver are you a registered nurse? I too I'm in the nursing field and know to do what you are doing requires medical training and beyond. Hope you can help some of your hometown "sisters".

No, i'm not a registered nurse.I'm an LVN.My instructor is a registered nurse.I am willing to help whoever is willing to learn. My school is registered by the state.Which requires each student to complete 80 hours of classroom.32 hours of clinical before you sit the state exam.In the state exam you have to pass 5 skills or 4 out of 5 hands on skills. If you are successful in that, you take the written test.Your licence will be good for two years. You can renew if you keep a job.If you do not use your licence over a period of 90 days you have to resit the exam.

Dear need help,I know most states have different laws.my best advice for you is to contact the department of health and human services for your state.Tell them what you want to do.They'll give you all the info.in writing, then you can follow through.Good luck hope this info.helps.

Dear nursing student, you've started on the right path. That's where I started. Now I have only fifteen months to become an RN.To become a LVN,first you have to find a college that offers such program, try to contact quite a few of them.As you may find some where you can finish in as little as twelve months, some as long as two years,Full time.Go in and talk to some of the councellors they have good advices. In case you want to know my tuition is $18,000 I don't know what it cost where you are but the councellors for the colleges have all the answers to your questions.Good luck, the sky is the limit.

CAREGIVER, ALTHOUGH I KNOW THAT EVERY STATE DIFFER I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THEY REQUIRE OF YOU TO OPEN YOUR OWN AGENCY. DO YOU NEED TO HAVE AN RN IN OFFICE AT ALL TIMES, AND CAN A HHA OPEN AN AGENCY.

Dear sweet girl,Yes, a HHA can open a agency.Yes you need a RN on your payroll.Dos'nt have to be in office at all times, but at least be on call or available when needed. It won't cost you anything to get info.from your state, they are there to help.If this is what you want to do don't hesitate to contact them.I don't want to give wrong info.as I still don't know what state you are in.If you don't mind post your state i'll get more info.for you but still you're gonna have to contact them because you pay registration fee,and obtain licence from them.

Sweetgirl,

I live in the Fort Lauderdale area too.

Check into the Broward County technical schools. I know they offer LPN & Medical assistant programs. They may also have a CNA program.
