I would love to see some features on local businesses in TB. No matter how large or small they may be, it would be nice to see how creative TB residents are. It would also give visitors the opportunity to support them. Maybe some pictures and a short description, somewhat similar to the profiles done by the primary school students.

What a great idea! I was in TB a few months ago and met some very enterprising and resilient local people who are working hard to achieve greater things.I frequented a little restaurant that sells authentic Jamaican cuisine, very reasonably priced. My only criticism is that it's not immediately apparent to visitors that meals are served there as there is no sign outside.I did have a word with the owner about this as I nearly missed it myself.

Are the tax spies inhibiting the flourishing of businesses?

I have heard the mutterings of many who instead of being encouraged and taught the intricacies of being in the shystem, are hounded and terrorised!!!

If they are on the books, a good bit of plywood and paint should solve the communication lapse.

Tax Spies?? You have got to be kidding me! Ignorance should be a crime!

Sorry CRC I'm sure the local Tax people have given the job a more palatable name.

Good thing the law you suggested is not on the books, whole heap of mumblers would be locked up!

Now denial, that should be a crime.

BTW Chief Revenue Collector, since you're here....

Is there any reward or incentive for the Inspectors or whatever you call them to bring in revenue? or a minimum quota?

Commissions, perks?

Remember, We's da Public!

You'se da Public SERVANT!

Each should bear an equitable share of our National needs, point is, educate us slowly but surely, don't use the old plantation crack of the whip fear conditioning system to extract $ for the now staggering National dept.

I'll let others argue the cause of the National dept.

Sorry to go off topic, I'll find the little restaurant and give my support.

Justice, it is so funny how something as innocent as wanting to be informed about what is going on in TB with the very ambitious residents can be twisted into something so off the topic. I am surely not a revenue collector. CRC are my initails "Cherisse Renee Clarke"
You clearly have some issues and seem to enjoy taking things out of context. I hope that others who are reading this thread don't think that you represent the majority. I find your posts to be very irrelevant on this topic and others. Anyway, I would still love to see some features done on local businesses!

I agree with CRC, Justice <always> seems to take things way out of porportion. Not just this topic but every topic on this website.

Thanks.

I represent myself. You represent the majority?

Maybe somebody picks up something of interest from my ramblings.

Best, Justice.

I like much of what Justice has to say, and so what if a thread about a jewel of a TB restaurant leads to other threads? All is one golden thread.

Justice appears to be a big fan of justice. He's right: were ignorance truly punishable by lock-up, the jails would be bursting at the seams. And Denial is reprehensible, and what gets us in messes, like wars, destruction of the environment, runaway greed. Perhaps Justice might rustle up a copy of Al Gore's movie, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH and have a showing somewhere in TB. TB folks like to "reason" - yes? Why should any topic, any poster, be silenced? Does what Justice has to say make some of us squirm?

Now let's hope that little jewel of a restaurant's shingle soon come. Meanwhile, Mae, exactly where is it, so we can all try it out.

I highly doubt it!

Yes ItK, a few CD's of Al Gores production circulating would help many of us to understand the man controled changes occuring on the surface of this planet now. Any donors?

And CRC and Tee, I do appreciate feedback. I can waffle on and on and take off on a tangent.

My issues are mostly about the world outside of my skin. My inner world is at peace.

My attempts at satire are a bit strained and sometimes out of context but yes, I love to..
"Stir it up"!

Now business!

How about asking who wants to be featured?

I can think of many, but like this bigmouth, they also enjoy their lack of fame.

Have a great week, Justice.

The restaurant is about 100 yards from Ashanti Village on the opposite side of the road.I went there most days during my short stay.

Met up with John Deer again. As usual he has very interesting old objects.

The driveway is the first part of the sdventure.

Ask John if he would like to be featured.
