It's good that there will be another training - I guess. I mean, I sponsored a lifeguard in the last training, and was happy to do it. But then I spent three weeks in TB this summer, and never saw one life guard. What's up with that?

Are lifeguards stationed at particular spots or during certain hours or on specific days? Or is this some kind of impromptu thing in which if a lifeguard is walking by and sees someone in distress he goes in after that person? I heard they were going to have lifeguards stationed on Frenchmans Beach because more people use that, and it's also the most dangerous. Is this true?

It is my understanding that the lifeguards are stationed at Frenchman's beach on the weekends only for now during slow season. However, many of the men trained spend lots of their time on the beach and would be present if someone found themselves in trouble.

This is a very good and difficult course. I'm not sure I would have the stamina to pass it!

Is there an age limit? Or can any age register?

There is no age limit to do the Life Saving Course. However, if you want to be a certified Life Guard you must be at least 17 years old.
