Click here to learn more about a major job scam. TB's own Earl Moxam was alerted to this issue yesterday morning when several Treasure Beach residents contacted him to tell him of their story.

This is a very sad and tragic story which all Jamaicans need to be aware of. So many are so eager to go abroad that they are often led into unauthorized "overseas employment scams". Everyone must check with the Ministry of Labour to make sure the organization you are working with is legitimate and licenced. Do not give anyone $$ until you have verified their authenticity.

As I am typing this I have just heard that this same organization was in Black River two weeks ago distributing flyers on this program and asking people to meet them at Invercauld Great House to sign up.

Please, please beware and be careful!

I heard on the radio a few days ago that a woman working for Medley Development Corporation was arrested on over 100 counts of fraud related to this scam. It is my understanding there is to be a hearing today. Some of our TB folks taken by this scam will be traveling to Kingston for the hearing.

Let us hope justice is served!
