Hey Milwaukee Mike It has nothing to do with freedom. It has to do with safety. We need to do whatever possible to keep innocent people safe.
Including most of all the children of the world.

The sad truth is that living in a police state would give us safety but at a price that I don't want to pay. Freedom is being chipped away little by little under the name of safety. I realize there are evil people in the world that find me being an American worthy only of death. That said, I want to live my life as one not forced to carry paperwork to walk on my streets. This safety thing is leading us towards that day. Once freedom is gone, it is impossible to put that genie back in the bottle. Today is August 113th, 2006. Here's a prediction. Within two years, you will not be able to bring anything with a battery onboard; no mp3 players, CD players, iPods, not even a wrist watch.

Of course every sane person wants to keep the world's children safe. I'm unclear on how bringing Tia Maria home is connected to that? BTW, there have been more children killed in Lebanon than soldiers on either side. That's a sad commentary on the world's "leaders". To be clear, I'm quite sure that Hizbullah would like nothing better than to see that score evened.

Wikipedia has an interesting bio on the person most responsible for Islamic fundamentalism- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sayyid_Qutb His manifesto can be found on a Canadian site- http://www.youngmuslims.ca/online_library/books/milestones/hold/index_2.asp It certainly doesn't convince me, but it does give one a window into the thinking behind Osama. Know your enemy. My "leader" doesn't; coming up with the rubbish that some people hate freedom, that's why they act like they do. How utterly ironic I find that statement! Peace. Mike
