What a night - what a show! My cheeks are still sore from laughing so hard!!

Newly and aptly named "Laughter & Lyrics" the show at Taino Cove last night was nothing less than fabulous!



Hosted and MC'd by Hollywood film star, poet, and comedian Phyllis Yvonne Stickney, Laughter & Lyrics was a great success and will be the first of what we hope will be many many more.

Miss Phyllis heated up the crowd starting the night off with loads of laughter.

She then introduced local singing talents Pauline Bell and Barbara McCain who delighted us with a cappella medleys of great Jamaican and American favorite oldies.



Then the humerous, thought provoking, but always entertaining Iion Station Muse dub poets took over the stage! My favorite poem, "The Fruitful Bachelor" had me laughing, clapping and booing all at the same time!



Last, but by all means far from least was Jamaica's #1 comedian Owen "Blacka" Ellis! True to form, Mr. Ellis had us all rolling in the aisles with laughter and had to come back for an encore performance. I'm surprised I could manage to take a photo of him as I couldn't stop laughing long enough to hold the camera still.



The music and sound were provided by Treasure Beach's own Brap International Sound.



The svenue completed the night as we sat outside under the stars and the watchful eye of the almost full moon with the sea right behind us.



The good news is, if you missed the performances last night, you have a second chance. Make sure to be at Taino Cove on August 25, 8:00 p.m. for a repeat performance!

The better news is, Laughter & Lyrics will be a regular show held at Taino Cove highlighting Jamaican artists with the next show scheduled for October.

What a great addition to entertainment available on Jamaica's South Coast. I wish Laughter & Lyrics all the best and I look forward to attending again and again!

When will the October show be? I'm trying to arrange for a trip toward the end of the month, and I'd love to see the show.

Not sure yet, but we are hoping for Hero's Weekend which would be the 14th.

I've heard the tentative date for October is the last Friday of the month.

Friday night proved to be another great night of Laughter and Lyrics! The crowd was treated to repeat performances from the outstanding line-up on August 19 with the addition of Bobby Burns performing some of his new material.
