In the last couple years I have been blessed to attain donations of refurbished computers for Treasure Beach area schools, 35 in the last two years. The people of my California community are awesome and very generous! I’m very proud to be a part of that community.

The great news is I just received another donation of 40+ more refurbished computers for the 2006/2007 school year for Treasure Beach area schools. YEAH!!!! I'm hoping to expand to several other schools. Also I throw an annual School Supplies drive at my office and have collected at least 100 pounds so far.

With the efforts of Food For The Poor I am able to ship the computers into Jamaica and the wonderful folks at The BREDS Foundation (thank you thank you thank you Jason) have everything picked up in Spanish Town and distributed. Fortunately I will get to be a part of this distribution as everything should arrive around Nov., I feel so blessed.

I just want to thank Food For The Poor, BREDS, Jason Henzell, all the folks at E&J Gallo Winery and the loving people in my hometown community who contributed. Just about the time I get discourage and want to quit, someone comes along and surprises me with their strong love for others and the global community we live in. I read recently in a magazine article where Jason Henzell said “if you’re in a position to help others you should.” That is such a simple statement but so true. And Glasceta just shared “an act of goodness in of itself is an act of happiness.” Thank you Glasceta! Jason and Glasceta you inspire me. This is such an awesome feeling to be ale to help the community that is sooooooo deserving and that I LOVE so very much!

That is just wonderful Lynette! Congratulations and thank you for all the hard work you have put into these projects. I have seen the positive results of all these computers available to students and teachers. This is no easy accomplishment and sincere thanks is due.

Lynette, I am a Canadian school teacher who is coming to vacation in Treasure Beach this August. What kind of school supplies do you need? I have been reading about BREDS, your schools, and other community groups and would love to be of assistance, if I can. Your whole community sounds supportive and want the best for your kids, like I want for mine.

(((((Canadian Teacher)))))) I love the fact that we are a global community and can be helpful to each other. I do love the children of TB, our children. Regarding you visit in August I do believe the schools will be closed but gearing up for the new school year and in need of supplies. The things that are always in need are chalk, regular pencils, construction paper, and little ribbons/stickers saying things like "good job" "You're a winner" etc. With the new year starting soon after your visit the children can always use book bags, some of the children can't afford them but they all need them. Norma Moxam at Sandy Bank would appreciate such a donation, or even Ms. James at James Prep School, but we don't want to forget Mountain Side, and Great Bay Pre-school, you can take your pick. Also: Sandy Bank is doing a wonderful job with their computer programs, even teaching adults in the evenings--offering a certification program. I know the school/computer lab is always in need of teaching software for the children. (If you have any of this you would like to donate email me and I can forward Ms. Moxams phone number to you) As for getting the donation to the school, you can always go by Jakes or the BREDS office and they could coordinate a pick up/delivery, even better... Rebecca has been very kind in delivering my boxes as they come down in the past, you might ask her for assistance and I'm pretty sure she will assist. :-)

You are very kind to think of the children of this lovely community, your going to fall in love with them I'm sure. Every little bit helps, no donation is too small, loving and giving comes from the heart and that means everything.
You can email me if you have any questions.

I will be staying at Jake's for my vacation, so that would be the easiest place to deliver the items. I will be in contact closer to my departure date and give you an update as to what I can fit into my luggage for this trip.
