Im planning to come to treasure beach with my family for the first time, but would like somewhere clean and nice to stay that is reasonable in price. We are looking for somewhere where we can cook our own food (as I have alot of food allergies) and also have hot water and possibly a balcony or somewhere to dry clothes washing. Can anybody give advice on where we can stay. a close walk to a beach would be great too, as we dont want to get a taxi to have to go to the beach. Look foward to hearing some responses. kind regards.

I have had good luck with prior recommendations to both 4Ms Cottage (on TB.net) and Fairhill (booked though Treasure Tours).

Cacona is the place you are looking for!!

You can rent by the room or the whole villa. Its a great value no matter where you compare in TB.

Don't be fooled by the exterior, my friends and I have stayed there the last 2 years for a total of 7 weeks and its awesome!

Cacona has 4 washrooms, 4 bedrooms, hot water, laundry machine, ceiling fans, balconies, landline phone, 2 fridges, propane stove, charcoal bbq, outdoor shower, dining room, living room & room to spare and its on the sea!!

Check it out once & you"ll be back twice if not more.
I can send you pix and answer any questions you have, no worries...

A lot of the listings in the "Where to Stay" section on this site are quite inexpensive and very nice. I've liked Shakespeare Cottage (a short walk down the hill to the beach) and both the Jack Sprat and Mussels cottages at Jake's are nice if you're with a group (the first can sleep four and is quite inexpensive and the second can sleep six) and the beach is a short walk away. Villa Ja Ja is beautiful and right on the water. It's not cheap, but it's so lovely. Same with Folichon, which is also right at the beach. I'd guess that most any place you choose to stay in TB will be nice and none are terribly far from the water. I trust this site enough to think that all of the listings here would make great options.

Enjoy your visit to TB!

Pelican's Reach is great!Very resonably priced. Only no hot water for shower just doing dishes. Huge kitchen, lots of room, roof top sitting area and enclosed patio, right on the beach. I stayed there in March and it was lovely. Not that close to town but everything you need is right there. If you need more contact with town I would always recommend Jakes, I've stayed there many many times. The Jack Sprat cottage has a nice kitchen, hot water and double veranda. Sweetlip cottage has a huge kitchen...so many choices, where ever you end up you'll be hooked on TB for sure! Happy Travels.

I have been starting to try different locations on each visit. So I'll stay a week at Jakes, then a couple days with you, then who knows where...Your place looks lovely in all the pictures on your website!

Irie Rest in Billy's Bay is a wonderful, affordable and family-friendly place. Lennie has added a brand new building to the main guest house with a super suite upstairs, kitchen facilities, eating screen-room dining, big bedroom and bath...and two separate units downstairs, each with its own bathroom. Self-contained,private and just off the garden courtyard. Great rates and 1 minute from the beach. The biggest pluses of all? The staff, especially Pauline...the authentic Jamaican food...and the friendly children and folks of Billy's Bay. Check it out. We stay there every time we come to Jamaica.

Hmm ... places I've stayed that I've loved where I can cook my own food ...

Jack Sprat cottage at Jake's
Shakespeare Cottage
Ashanti Village (well, I couldn't *cook* there, but I could have fruits and salads and granola ... and that worked for me for most meals)

I will also vouch for Irie Rest & Shakespeare Cottage. I've never stayed at Ashanti Village but I've heard good things. Vikigs House is another good place.
