Anyone can recommend a good hairdresser. Got a wedding coming up and I'm unprepared, need a blond hair makeover while visiting the island. Willing to travel. Anyone can help?

There are a couple of great hairdressers right here in TB.

When you say "blonde hair makeover" if you are looking for a coloring, I would recommend you get that done before coming here as not many local hairdressers have blonde coloring. Trust me - - I know!

My hairdresser is located in Junction. Her name is Lisa and she is brilliant, but be prepared to wait for hours as she is also very popular. One of my mother's favorite memories from all her many trips to Jamaica, was waiting 3 hours in the beauty parlor for a hair cut chatting and gossiping with all the other ladies there.

If you must have it done there, carry your own hair color.

Luckily, the red I use is available in Jamaica.

I highly recommend Jennifer Groves in Mandeville at "Bellisima" - she goes to the US constantly to update and buy new hair products!

Dear Ann,

I am a hairdresser and have been for 45 years. I also teach Chemical applications, such as color, etc.

Unfortunately, I do not practice anymore, but I can sure give you advice. If you bring the color I tell you to, I would be more be more than happy to help you. All I will need to know is the following:
1. What color is your hair now. 2. What color do you want.If you do not mind going to Mandeville, which is an hour or so from Treasure Beach, Jennifer Groves is good. I have had her in my classes.

Hope to hear from you.

Out of interest, does anyone know of any male hairdressers! I am used to having a male hairdresser and would be interested in having one when on vacation. I am willing to travel to mandeville.
