Just checking if anyone out there is familiar with the above condition. Let me hear experiences, if any or if anyone is knowledgeable about what causes it in humans i.e.
Hi Prof.
If you go to the google web site and enter 'static electricity body' you should get the information you want.
If you are asking about the little shocks we sometimes get from car and door handles especially in the cold, this is the information.
If not...?
Please describe your experience may be I can help. Static energy as in Electricity, like when you wear a polyesther and your cloth stick to you. Or you slide out of your car seat and you air stands on end. To tell you what you are experiencing, one need more information.
See if you can do better.
Hi there again, the experience is that each time a friend of mine, gets out of their car, they get a 'jerky' shock from the door. I have also visited the website and saw where it's dangerous, especially when taking petrol, being charged up and the gas fumes etc.
Sounds like there's a short somewhere in the car's wiring to me.
Is it only their own car? Or anyone's car they happen to be in?
YES I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, IT'S VERY SCAREY I AM SCARED TO TOUCH MY CAR SOMETIME'S I TRY TO FIND OUT WHAT CAUSED THIS AND KNOW ONE SEEMS TO KNOW.YOU DONT HAVE TO WEAR ANY THING WITH POLYESTHER FOR THIS TO HAPPEN,IT'S LIKE TOUCHING AN IRON THAT HAVE SHOTRS,I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT REALY COUSE THIS.
The shock you feel from the car door it's different from been shocked by electrical shortage. The shock from the cars is the same as the elevator,or metal etc. It's only STATIC a simple advice if you are scared just rub your hands in your hair or even on your clothes before you touch whatever you think you've been shocked by it helps for real.
What your referring to is static shock, they had a special about it up here on TV. It is a serious matter and if you notice when you go to a gas station, they now have a posted message about it.
If you have static on you when you are at the pump it can cause a fire. Some helpful hints they talked about on the news were to always touch your car once you come out to remove any static that is with you(The metal from your car will remove any static on you). Also NEVER get back into you car and wait while the pump is running. If you are at the pump and you notice a blaze starting they say not to pull the nozzle out, just quickly remove yourself from the area. Hope this helps as it was very informative to me when I saw it on TV. They actuall have videos of people that unfortunately were victims of these static fires at gas stations...
