What's the latest on this issue?

Unfortunately nothing new.
I repeat my burning questions:
Where are the voices of the TB residents? Where are the voices of the hotel and villa owners? Is there a citizen association, a community leader, who could coordinate action?
Are they all playing īSleeping Beautyī?

no idea, havenīt heared anything lately. However meanwhile I received a confirmation that my e-mail to Mr. Hodelin was received....

I will never understand how it goes anyway, because last time when I was there (March) they did some "repairs" to the road above the Police Station, I was stuck in a traffic jam, thatīs why I know....but why they didnīt continue the repairs all the way down to TB ... I donīt understand...

I have not had any response to any emails I have sent to Mr. Hodelin to date.

I will further say, I just got back from a trip to Portland driving to Kingston, then through the mountains to Annotto Bay and down to Port Antonio and back, and in the entire drive across country, the road entering TB was the road in the poorest condition.

Can i safely say that TB people are too 'laid back'. This road has been like this for over 2 years. I believe it is time for TB to hold up their placards and make some noise - we don't have to block the roads, but show our solidarity for a well needed cause. What happen to the contractors who got rich off giving us a quick fix job? Anyway, I will not get into 'poly-tricks'. We are tired of the 'dust-bowl and donkey track' now!!! Where are the business owners? Guess they are busy marketing for themselves, but look at the entrance to our Community? Come on, it's everyone's business. We are too silent!!! Make some noise!! Letters are not helping, they reach but are not answered.

so very good to know you are involved, rebecca.
Could you push it a little further by publishing name & number of a possible community leader/citizen ass. to call a meeting immediately. Draft a serious and ultimative letter, have some volunteers go from house to house collecting signatures. Send this letter with signature lists attached to the PRIMEMINISTER, copies to Omar Davies, Asamba/Tourist Board, NWC, investigative radio programmes such as Cliff Hughesīs `Nationwide`, Power lo6 (Earl Moxam?), Hot lo2 `This Morning`etc.
Get TV - I suggest Cliff Hughes again - to film the whole road up to Billy Bay, Fort Charles and on.
And please, all you who care, donīt make the mistake of calling for the policestation roadalone. All TB roads need urgent fixing. The stretch from Frenchman to Billy Bay is not a road with potholes anymore, itīs a crime. And donīt you ever forget the Fort Charles Rd. - for most of you the one alternative road to Black River.
Ask for all, you might get a little.

Sounds like great ideas Baff, but don't wait on me, please go ahead and start the campaign!

Update on the road conditions; they oiled the two marled sections of the road as you come down from Station. This cuts down on the marl dust greatly. I also assume this is the first step towards paving the road.
