information:

My grandparents, parents and myself, now over 60 years old have had real estate in the area. It was forst know as "Pedro" and then changed to Treasure Beach by Mr. Dicker who built the original Treasure Beach Hotel. Treasure Beach consists of Great Bay, Calabash Bay, Frenchman's Bay, Billy's Bay and Starve Gut Bay now known as Fort Charles Bay. The fact that the recent development spear headed by Jakes, with their incredible talent, is mostly between Calabsh Bay and Frenchman's Bay does not change the fact that this particular area is still merely a village. One would think that it would be adventageous to build up the whole of Treasure Beach rather than attempt to push only certain areas. Each area has its own attractions and charm and appeals to different people. Let us be constructive and help one another.

If anyone would like to contact us personally, my email is buttonbay@comcast.net.

Thanks for your information and your call for cooperation treasure beach.

I hope in any building up or utilisation of any parts of Treasure Beach it is remembered that the background for the charms we all enjoy are: clean air, quite, unpolluted sea, natural beauty and the specialness of the culture that has developed in the area.

Any action that diminishes any of the above will act to reduce the appeal of the area to visitors and more importantly lower the quality of living for the residents.

I hope TB remains a mere village and does not undergo some of the changes that have transformed once sleepy villages and towns (not only in Ja) into stress pots in search of 'di yankee dalla' (no offence to our northern neighbours).

TB has the potential to move in the direction of appropriate development with the continuing improvement of local quality of living while welcoming and caring for foreign and local visitors. Indeed the area could become an example of how to care for 'yard'.
