The Treasure Girls and New Berry met up yesterday at Campion College, Kingston to play a match in the League Tournament, however, the umpires never showed and, therefore, the match was not played.
Members of the Women's Cricket Association will be meeting tonight to determine why this happened and will inform the teams of the outcome of the meeting, at which time we will inform you.
It was a disappointing day for The Treasure Girls team as they practiced hard all week in anticipation of this match, rise very early in the morning, travel the distance (3 hour drive) to play a match and then to not have the match played and travel home. But we are already looking forward to next Sunday's match to be played against the Kingston/St. Andrew team in Kingston.
Thanks for your continued support!
The decision has come in from the Women's Cricket Association that the match against New Berry will be played on Sunday, May 7 at Campion College in Kingston. They said that since it was neither team's fault The Jamaica Cricket Board will stand half of our expenses to go into Kingston and half the lunch bill.
Wish us luck!!
Congratulations to Paulette Rowe, Chedean Nation, Patrice Cuffe, Toni Greaves, Tameika Sanford and Sonya Stephenson who have been choosen to participate in the trials for the Jamaica Senior tournment coming up soon, namely for the under nineteen tournment.
We wish them all the best as they try out for a chance to represent Jamaica playing against other West Indian teams.
We'll keep you posted on the outcome.
