Now for a very serious and important question.... the fate of the world relies upon your responses......

What is your favorite mood music CD to compliment the overall mood of treasure beach?

I think I would have to go with Halfway Tree by Damian Marley.

"Escape Mode: Flyaway", a custom CD mix of
global music ( varies with season, villa and guests ), that's sent as part of an advance Welcome Kit. Like TB, it's mellow, lounge-y, laid-back and has a full spectrum of music outside the norm/generally unknown. This season, a 6-man country mento band, "The Mighty Beestones", has also played privately for some of our guests at Blue Marlin and Unforgettable -- with a CD in the works to come...

It would be great if folks could make an iMix of their recommendation on iTunes and then post here with the name of the iMix so we could check it out and possibly add it to our music collections.

TB inspires musicians and songwriters. Many
have written and recorded songs or entire
CDs about their inspirations and experiences --
and TB's people. Look for 2 CDs, "Sister Lou" (with also a song dedicated to/about Capn. Joseph Brown) and "Sincere Intentions" -- both by MORRI NAMASTE of Colorado, a frequent guest at Unforgettable. We're looking forward to work by another of the villa's guests, SAPHIRE,
a NYC "freestyle" singer/songwriter with 2 CDs
already released. And seeing a CD by "Four-In-
One", Bev Elliot's boys -- with
a cover photograph by Robert Hoffman shot at night round a bondfire below La Casa Duna on
Billy's Bay beach

well having just returned from TB where my parents have moved to - i have to say that Gyptian "Serious Times" is my all time favourite at the moment - it might not sum up the mood in TB but it was the first and last song i heard in Jamaica - i also love half way tree, JaCure, and Terry Linen who was brilliant in Jakes 2 weeks ago if anyone wants me to forward on an imix just pm me. xx

If you happen to lunch or dine up at CULLODEN CAFE in Whitehouse -- highly recommended -- ask Tina or owner Ann Lyons to play a custom CD mix of tunes just done for the restaurant and bar.

There is a fantastic mixed cd that L'Occitanne plays in all their shops in the US and Europe - it is a combination of french/spanish/african/world - very laid back, very rootsey, very hip, but at the same time gives you that vibe that you feel in Treasure Beach... it is called "Couleurus de Mediterranee"

There is also a Cuban/Caribbean CD I have called Cafe Cubana that reminds me of T. Beach and I would use this if I had a small hotel or villa there.

I always hear great music whenever I'm in TB. I really enjoy the vibe of Irie-FM on sundays though. They play nice lovers rock from late afternoon into the evening. Check it out!

Every time I need my TB, Jamaican fix. Typically brought on by months of work here in Texas and being ready to go back and drink a red stribe in a chase lounge watching the beautiful sunsets, I will put in the 2 disc set of Toots and the Maytalls. I know it is a bit out of date, but his rendition, live, or Country roads (Jamaican Style) always puts my in the mood. So a few songs from Toots a few posts and reads on this board and looking at visitors pictures, usually gets me by until the next trip back to TB.
