Big News: The Sandals Corporation --famous for its all-inclusives in Negril, Montego Bay, and Spanish Town-- has just purchased this web site, TreasureBeach.Net.

Their marketing people tell us that it will keep the same look and feel and will be used to promote their recent purchase of much of the coastline in the area. They're especially excited about the Profile of the Month...look for local resident Butch Stewart to be featured this month.

While we're leaking this news on the 1st of April, the actual sale will not be final until Monday, the 3rd. It's our understanding that Sandals will be running a big media campaign to publicize the take over at that time. Look for TV, radio, and web ads next week.

So the All Inclusive Sandals Corporation has arrived at Treasure Beach or am I reading too much into this? This could mark the beginning of the end for Treasure Beach as we know it not to mention the Forum.Does the current web master know something that the rest of us don't, after all the news has come very suddenly and without warning.Will the people of Treasure Beach wake up one morning to find that all the 'environmentally friendly' investors who've made their millions have packed up and headed to their retirement haven to make way for the all inclusives which don't suit their interest?

I am certainly unhappy and disappointed with TB.net for selling out this website, I think
the modest community of TB and it's people are being cheated of something they've worked so hard to achieve over the years and that's recognition
as finally people could see what great community TB is, but once again it's 'Money' that talks and I guess for some people nothing else on earth is more important, such a shame it has to be like that. Again I am very disappointed as I know this site will never be the same.

does this mean we'll all have to pile onto the big ol' tourist bus to visit the site...???

Now that the site has been sold, and as we've discussed, it is time to launch Bravo stage of operation "Soul-Sucker" and unleash the heavenly glory of the McDonalds franchise of fine dining restaurants on the South coast. Let's agree to meet here on April 1st of next year for a status check of the plan.

Yes indeed it was an April Fools joke. I think its very safe to say that we would never sell the site to Sandals Corp., or whatever their actual name is.

Nor do they have an all inclusive in Spanish Town, at least not the last time I checked :-)

We went to an all inclusive (COUPLES) on St. Lucia years back and hated it! Between the bad Michael Jackson music constantly piped through the loudspeakers 24/7 to the "hot dog cassarole" served at the precise same time every day after the arranged vollyball game where free Budweisers were handed out (warm) to the annoying whine of the jet skis and the vomit I stepped in on the way to my room to the armed security patrolling the beach at night - - I HATE ALL INCLUSIVES and I THANK THE GOOD LORD that Treasure Beach will not be destroyed them.
