I would recomend 3 places that I have stayed in (twice each) Irie Rest (Billy's Bay), Viking's House (Great Bay), Shakespear Cottage (Frenchmans).

I owuld highly recommend Villa Hikaru. A wonderful place to "bring the family" Miss Joyce is a superb cook and the place is magnificent. Yuo can find the link in "places to stay"

Can someone tell me the exact cost in Canadian$ to get from Montego Bay.

$100-150.00 US$... the rate of exchange is pretty good right now, so you are looking at $125-$175.00 Canadian $$$ - don't forget that if your driver is doing a nice job of giving you a "tour" as you travel and accomodating your needs as far as stopping for beverages or breaks along the way to change money or buy groceries or supplies, it is also appropriate to account for a tip or at least offer a beverage or food en route. This is a very long day for the driver when you factor the time it takes them to travel to Mo Bay, wait for you even if you are delayed coming in, and then getting you to you location, with any stops and getting you checked in or settled in. These can be very long days for the drivers.

Thanks for the info, is is safe to take a taxi from the airport? is so how do you know the safe ones?

I would recommend Treasure Tours for transporation to and from the airport. They are very reliable and very safe. You can find their link above "Transport"

I might be better to arrange a drive from TB than just getting a taxi at the airport. You want the $ agreed on ahead of time, and some one who knows where they're going.

You can either arrange it with Treasure Tours or throught the place you are staying.

Make sure to arrange a driver from Treasure Tours. The headache you will save by not having to deal with the airport mess will be worth every penny. Also the driver will know exactly how to get to your rental. Kevin picked us up and made it enjoyable. We had him drive us two other days for day trips and he took us back to the airport. He's a good man.

As owners of Lyric we always use Tresure Tours for our guests for the simple reason that they are reliable, on time, dependable and INSURED!!!!!! You may pay a little more than some guy you meet at the airport but well worth the extra ten US you might pay.
