Thinking of a visit in March or April. We usually go during the summer from May to July. Which month is best for calm seas and snorkeling? Also, which is the slowest as far as tourist and prices?

I've never been in March, but I know that April is great as far as calm seas and snorkeling. And, too, many of the guest houses switch to 'low-season' rates in mid- to late-April.

I think late April would probably guarantee you an off-season rate. Check the "where to stay" section here. If there are different prices for high and low season, they'll be listed. I was down in late April last year, and had six fantastic snorkeling outings.

In any case, any time you go to TB is a good time. My firends have been in summer and fall, and had a great time each time. No snorkeling in the fall, though, the sea was too rough. But TB is really just heaven on earth, so any time you decide to go will be the right time. Enjoy the Red Stripe, watch the sun sets, go meet the great people and just have a fantastic time!

March and April accomodations/bookings/airfare are tight -- don't dawdle. Summer season lower rates start 16 April and lower airfare on midweek Tues/Wed/Thurs flights. Late April you'll also avoid the airport crush of springbreaks March and school vacation holidays; springbreakers, tho, rarely turn up in TB.

How is the weather in March compared to April? Which month is less windy and the water calmer? Is Treasure Beach more crowded in March or about the same as April? Thanks for the info. We love Treasure Beach and can't wait to get back. Rebecca, do you have a preference?

Well Joe and Jean, I have to say each month carries it's own beauty. However, April typically tends to bring some much needed showers making everything green and lush and the sea tends to be more calm than in March. But, as the weather patterns have shown us all over the world, who knows if the typical will occur.
