After taking a hiatus in 2005 the 2006 Jamaica Women's Cricket Competion has begun!

It started on Sunday, February 5 with an opening ceremony and a Six-A-Side competition. Ms. Heather Francis was introduced as the new President of the Jamaica Women's Cricket Association. In her opening remarks she welcomed all participating clubs. She announced the Jamaica Women's Cricket Association is in the process of merging with the Jamaica Men's Cricket Association. She explained her hopes of this new venture bringing more exposure and recognition to Women's Cricket.

Five teams participated in the Six-a-Side competition. Even though Treasure Girls did not win, their spirits were high as they played well. The league competition is expected to start on February 26.

Chedean Nation, Peta-Gay Hanson and Tameika Sanford, team members of the Treasure Girls, represented Jamaica as National Players for the year 2005 in the under 23 tournment traveling to Trinidad to play against other West Indian teams.

Chedean Nation was selected to play for The West Indies Women Cricket team to tour India between April and June 2006!!! She will be going to Trinidad to start training soon. Please join us in wishing her well.

Wow! I thought the Treasure Girls were a local pasttime. Now I discover they are international competitors.

My husband and myself are planning a trip to TB and would really like for you to recommend a guest house that has a housekeeper or caretaker that lives on the property so we can have a feeling of safety as they would know the real natives/out of towners.We would like a place that realy has privacy but at the same time a place where we are not totally isolated but is able to see people in their comings and going as they go about their daily chores.A place with A/C screened windows a pool and of course the OCEAN VIEW.We are of middle age but a jolly friendly couple and of course I know we will get to know some of the natives and make a friend or two.According to the map somewhere between Calabash Bay and Frenchman Bay sounds like a good pick to us.
