I'll be coming to Jamaica on 23 February for 3 weeks and would like to stay in the Treasure Beach area as I've heard so many positive things about the place. Can anybody suggest/recommend anywhere safe I could rent for 3 weeks with cooking facilities.

I have rented Waikiki Guest House many months on end. Segree the owner is very reasonable and helpful. There are two kitchens for use (one in each of two houses that he rents out) or rents rooms in) and both are right on Frenchman Beach and in the middle of Treasure Beach giving you full reign of everything and everybody fun in Treasure Beach.

I am trying to trace any family of my grand mother who died in Black River 1978. She was born Violet Simms and was from 'Baubry Hall' St Elizabeth. I know it's in the south of the parish but have no idea of where it is in relation to Treasure Beach.I don't know what year my grand mother moved to Black River, but I do recall travelling to Kingston with her as a little girl to visit her sister Ina Simms.Ina had a son called Earl who had a daughter called Donna. They lived at: 11 St George's Rd, Kingston 10. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All of Treasure Beach is safe, if you'd like the added security of being in an area where you are off the "main drag" of Treasure Beach, Viking's House is located in a family area in Great Bay.

We have kitchenette rooms and offer discounts for long term rentals.

Segree McKenzie @ Waikiki Guest House... I don't believe he has an e-mail address, but I think his telephone number is still 876-965-0448 Give it a try. It is a great location, and he is a very nice and accomodating person.

'Baubry Hall' may well be 'BARBARY HALL', a small
village about 2 miles east of Black River en route to Treasure Beach, about another 30 min. distant. BROWNBERRY COTTAGE in Barbary Hall
might be a good stay while you're researching.

Treasure Beach is safe! If you use common sense, you will be fine. So lock your door at night and when you are away, use obvious caution very late at night, and enjoy. Choose a place you think you will like.
