The organizers hope to make this a bigger event next year holding the tournament for a week and involving each fishing village with weigh-in happening at a different beach each evening. We wish them luck with this venture as this tournament was great fun!

The big story of the day, however, was of the big one that got away. Paolo, owner of Fi Reel Fishing Toursentertained us with tales of the 400 lb, yes 400 lb. white marlin which they caught and brought up to the boat in the morning. The marlin straightened out a 6 inch gaff broke the pole (notice the broken pole in the photo), and, yep, got away! What a story!!!
