I spent 8 delightful days (paid for 7 deal) at Pon de Rock the last week of Nov. A nicely appointed, modern studio cottage with a spectacular view of the water and a short climb down in front to a delightful (rocky) swimming area. Rosi, the owner, has equipped the kitchen area for convenient self-catering, but I hired Vivien to cook and clean for me (1000 Js/day) from morning to late afternoon -- she is incredibly reliable, pleasant and hard-working, and cooks up a storm (traditional Jamaican cuisine). I was so spoiled and relaxed!! Exactly what I needed.
Cold water showers in and out, and drinking water in large jugs -- I left a sun-shower I brought for hot H2O but only used it twice.
I highly recommend a scooter, car or mountain bike for Pon de Rock. Taxis do pass by during the day, and Rosi left a long list of honest taxi phone numbers, so it's possible without wheels, but a scooter was perfect. Lennie at Irie Rest was super helpful whenever I needed something.
I can see why people rave about TB -- what a beautiful place with friendly people and virtually no hustlers. Terrific change of pace from Negril. Highly recommended!! Thanks, Rosi.

@wildbill
I´m very pleased to read that you had a nice relaxing holiday "pon de rock".

Each time we are there we make some improvements (like the mobile phone we now have there and which is very convenient for the guests)

Thanks to Viviene and Lennie for backing us.

We´re looking forward to hopefully seeing you again one day...take care

@wildbill: Are you from NY? I guess we did the Black River Safari together with Allan. We spent one week at Irie Rest (my two friends from Austria and our friends from Belgium and me). Remember the guy, who had problems with a moskito in his eye? That´s me :-)

Hope to see you again in TB anytime.

Regards from fu..ing cold Bavaria (about -10 C)
Tom
