Little Ochie is at the top of the list of places I must go while in TB. Can anyone tell me the best way to get there - route taxi, private driver, etc. - and the approximate cost? Also, is there somewhere to swim/relax on the beach while there, or is it just pretty much the wonderful restaurant? Thanks!

I'm not sure re route taxi. You can hire a private taxi or boat to get there. It's right on the beach. You can swim there.

Get a group together and hire a boatman. Go to Sunny Isle, a coral outcropping in Alligator Pond Bay. IMHO, one of the best snorkling and chill spots on the South Coast. After getting your fill of sun and fun, motor in to Little Ochi for a long ,leasurely meal. Plan on a full day and bring plenty of sunscreen.

Go a little further and work up an appetite swimming in the blue hole at Guts River. It's a magical place. The local tour operators know where to go. Enjoy!

Call Gairy Brooks @(876)452-4490. He's a local taxi-driver and the unofficial "Mayor of Treasure Beach."

props to Gairy -- I rented a scooter from him at a fair rate, and he responded quickly when I hit a snag (flat tire up in Ft. Charles area). Nice, reliable, hard-working guy. Highly recommended.
(Winston) Blacks is another excellent car service for day/night excursions.
