We are researching the history of Shakespeare Cottage. Before becoming a guest house, Shakespeare Cottage was a four bed room family home. While visiting Jamaica, Members of the family who grew up in that house did drop by the cottage on more than one one occasions to view a part of their history. If any of these folks see this message and know when the house was built and also what was the name of the owner, would you be kind enough to email us that info at shakespearecottage@hotmail.com

Thank you Mrs. Rochester for your concerns. the pond was filled up with water as usual, but did not affect any of the buildings.

How did you make out with the hurricane in Florida? We lost all the large fruit trees in the back yard (all from seeds which were brought in from Jamaica), but that's nothing to talk about compare to the magnitude of the loss of so many of our fellow Floridians.

Hi TB Resident,

Good to know who had owned that cottage. I did not even know that and Cecil James as they use to call him white bud was my grandmother' s brother she also died a year ago. Thanks I guess I would have died myself not knowing that piece of information as I was not even born then.

I just got a chance to view the site only to see that information is reguested on the Shakespeare Cottage. It was owned by Cecil James who is the brother of the late Mrs. Maudlyn Hamilton as everyone knows her as Miss Laurie. This is only a suggestion that a member of the Hamilton family should be able to assist you with this information. I think Mrs. Shelia Hamilton would be a good person to ask or as I said any member of the Hamilton family. I hope I was of some help.
