I just got off the phone with Oral and he is doing much better. He asked me to tell you all thanks for your good wishes and not to fret as he is recuperating.

I have been a neighbor of Oral and Joyce for over 10 years now, and better neighbors I have never had. They are both always there, all hours day and night. Their hard working ethics and dedication to the community is an inspiration to me and many others.

Wishing you both many more years of health and happiness!

Hi Oral,
Sorry to hear about your illness. I wish you a speedy recovery, and, here's a poem for you:

YOU MUSTN'T QUIT

When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but do not quit.

Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
It's when things go wrong that you must not quit.

An update on Oral Ebanks

Oral has shown significant progress and will be out of the hospital in a day or two. His entire family would like to say a BIG, BIG thank you to all those who called and have kept him in their thoughts and prayers. We delivered every single message to him and what a joy it was to him! Oral has asked to say thanks to everyone. This is a community that truly cares about each other in a time of need. Once again thank you all.

Michelle Lawrence (Oral's Sister)

Oral, I'm so glad to learn that you are feeling better. Here's a thought for you to think on:

New Beginnings

One of the best things we can do in our lives is this: begin again.
Begin to see yourself as you were when you were the happiest and strongest you've ever been.
Begin to remember what worked for you and what worked against you, and try to capture the magic again.
Begin to remember how natural it was when you were a child, to live a lifetime each day.
Begin to forget the baggage you have carried with you for years. The problems that don't matter anymore, the tears that cried themselves away, and the worries that are going to wash away on the shore of tomorrow's NEW BEGINNINGS.
Tomorrow tells us it will be here every new day of our lives; and if we will be wise, we will turn away from the problems of the past and give the future and ourselves a chance to become the best of friends.
Sometimes all it takes is a wish in the heart to allow yourself ... to begin again.
