I heared that there´s been such heavy rainfall for many days. The streets seem to be impossible to pass, either way out of Treasure Beach. OMG I thought that they were passable again after the last Hurricane...?! So in what condition are the streets ? Anybody know this ?
I just saw a bus come down the road so I assume the road is passable. I am heading out the door now to check things out.
What is it with the road in St.Elizabeth, each hurricane season bring road distaster, pothole and torn and eroded asphalted surfaces. With all the Engineers and the town planner, that this beautiful county produces and the masses that graduated aboard and since come home, can't this folk with the help of the central government and the Parishes build better roads and drainage system. I visited recently Treasure Beach, and the roads are terrible for miles, all around dangerous bends and blind alleys upto right at front of the Pedro Police Station, and all the way the to near the Calabash Beach. What an eyesore. The contractor should be able to guarrante their works to the Government, and be held accountable, for the road to last more than one hurricane season. Something need to be done I hope some of the politician and the Parish Councilmen read this messages.
noooooo, they don´t read that....:-)
I AM A JAMAICAN LIVING IN THE USA I AND I AM ASHAMED OF THE POLITION ESPECIALLY TREASURE BEACH WHICH BRING IN ALOT OF TOURIST THE POLITICAN SHOULD BE ASAMED OF THEMSELVES, MY BOTHER IS ILL VERY BAD IN BLACK RIVER HOSPITAL AND MY OTHER BROTHER HAD TO WALK FOR A LONG WAY TO GET TRANSPORTARION TO SEE HIM. I URGED THE PEOPLE OF ST ELIZABETH TO WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE TO PUT TREASURE BEACH BACK IN PLACE
Any reports about the condition of the beach and businesses in Frenchman's Bay area? Thanks for the line of communication, and best wishes to all those affected.
The main road to the police station was repaired and ready for all traffic by 7 p.m. last night.
The beaches have suffered some erosion once again. Most businesses in Frenchman's Bay are okay with Bobette's Beauty Shop, The Pot Snapper Restaurant, and Charmaine's Shop being flooded with anywhere from 1 inch to 1 foot of water in them.
I heared that this road can still only be used by bigger and "higher" vehicles, not by normal cars...
I drove it myself since Friday and I am using a "regular car". You have to take your time and a large section is single lane traffic, but it is passable.
I wonder in what condition the Fort Charles road will be ?? This is actually for very many people the more important way out direction Black River and the shorter way anyway, at least for all the people in Billy´s Bay and Fort Charles.
I wonder that nobody stands up for this road...? Where is the lobby for this road?
