This week has been deemed National Tourism Week in Jamaica as tomorrow is International Toursim Day.

In commemoration of National Tourism Week, a beach clean-up was held on Calabash Bay yesterday morning. Twelve folks got together at 7:00 a.m. and combed the beach collecting garbage.

Of course, someone decided it was more fun to collect sea shells instead of garbage . . .

All volunteers were then treated to an amazing breakfast at Marblue which included johnny cakes, ackee & saltfish, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, blended fresh fruit juice, bacon, saltfish and cabbage, toast, cheeses, coffee, etc. Great food and great conversation, what a treat!

Thanks to Sunset Resort and Marblue for organizing and sponsoring this event.

A message from the Minister of Tourism was read by Yvonne Clark (Jake's Place) at the morning church service at The Treasure Beach Church of God.

Sunset Resort will host a "Jammin" night on Thursday night open to all those who work in the tourism field and The Breakfast Club (a popular morning radio talk show) will be broadcast live from Marblue interviewing folks involved in the industry on Friday morning.

We take this week to recognize and thank all who are working together to make tourism sucessful!
