Having recently returned from Treasure Beach, I felt compelled to share my visit to Treasure Beach with the readers of this site.
The ride from MoBay is most excellent - but always seems to take forever. I'm not sure what my favorite part is - everything is so FRESH and beautiful. Kevin, our driver, was most informative, friendly and sweet, displaying old fashinoned Jamaican manners.
Our accommodation at Lyric exceeded our expectations, this was home for the first half of our stay. We all felt like we were living in a James Bond movie. The outdoor shower was a big hit - no such thing as an outdoor shower in the frozen north - even a rare thing in summer.
Although we saw a lot of changes to the landscape after Ivan, the people of Treasure of Beach remain the same - always big smiles and an y'all right?
It's the people that make us return, the people are special.....thanks Polly for your calmness after I was up all night with a sick husband, you found Lancel so that he could take us to Dr. Elliot. Lancel is the greatest he even hitched us a ride to the drs. Polly and Dawn are amazing cooks - thanks for the coffee Dawn, even though it was last minute you were able to come through for us - very much appreciated - sorry we missed you. Thanks Morris at the Coffee Shop for breakfast and most exellent conversation. I miss you so much. Cameron so enjoyed his bike rental from you he pedaled for two days.
I enjoyed being able to talk to Quest, you are very special most certainly a very unique individual - thank you for the carving (with soul) I wear it every day. Linda at Mini Mart, always a smile - thanks for remembering us from before. Canadian Customs inspected my Jamaican broom, but let me bring it home - all my friends want one! Allan - big up for the boat ride home from Frenchmen's - you captured Kate's heart on the trip to Pelican Bar. Marcia's twins - Kira and I had the greatest day swimming with you - thanks for being perfect gentlemen - never change. Angus, you hold a very special place in my heart, I attached Quest's carving to the red beads.
Bushman, brother, thank you for all your thoughtfulness and just being yourself - miss you daily. Of course Floyd, you are a great cook - we look forward to more of your tasty delights.
Slyvan, thanks for the great ride to MoBay. I appreciated your understanding(I cried all the way to MoBay). I know how uncomfortable a crying woman is to a man, so thanks for peacefully tolerating me.
Rebecca it was great to finally meet you. Thanks for all your kindness, especially when Cameron had to go to the drs. But the biggest thanks for all the updates and photos during Emily - I know that you help to put minds at ease all over the globe. Thank you for your tremendous effort.
Durning our stay, Dennis passed by. The people of Treasure Beach were amazing, making sure we had very "likkle ting" we needed, our first hurricane you see. People also were most reasurring, even after what they went through from Ivan. I have travelled many places and no where have I been made to feel more at home than in Treasure Beach. In fact I feel more comfortable in Treasure Beach than I do here in my city of birth. I miss you all and will return as soon as I am able.
Photos soon come.

The Gayle Family of Treasure Beach would like to say that we are eternally grateful to all those who express their love and prayers during the Home-Going of our Dad, Pastor Headley Gayle.

God Bless.
