It sweet, it sweet, it cyan no sweeta!!! That is the best way to describe the second annual production of The Treasure Beach Church of God entitled Joseph The Dreamer highlighting the life of Joseph.
The imagination, creativity and effort put into this production is just amazing. I understand there were over 20 rehersals, loads of time spent writing the script, coming up with ideas for the various acts, making of the costumes, picking out the right music and sound effects, and so much more.
The audience spilled over to the outside of the church as approximately 200 people showed up to watch the play. No one was dissapointed and all were thoroughly entertained.
Enjoy the photos!
The night started on an up note as 3 year old Danielle Neil got on stage and sang two songs for us.
Then the Elliot singers entertained us with a few songs singing to perfection as usual. They even made up a song about Joseph especially for the occasion!
The Ishmelites came walking into the church.
Jacob is sewing the coat of many colors of which he plans on giving Joseph.
Jacobs 12 sons are all gathered round to watch.
Jacob presents joseph with the coat of many colors.
Everyone's eyes were glued to the stage!
Joseph's brothers were very jealous of the special treatment he received from Jacob.
They plotted against Joseph.
They threw Joseph into a deep deep well.
Continued in next box.
The absolute hit of the play was the appearance of a real live camel . . . well sort of . . .
Can you name that camel?
The brothers gather around Jacob to tell him of Joseph's 'death'.
After being sold to the Ishmelites, Joseph went to Egypt where he became the personal advisor to Potiphar, the captian of King Pharaoh's body guards and chief executioner.
Potiphar's wife making the moves on Joseph!
Potiphar's wife lying to Potiphar saying that Joseph made the moves on her.
Joseph gone a prison!
Fellow prisoner pondering life in jail.
Other prisoners totally depressed at their situation.
Continued in next box.
King Pharaoh's wine taster in prison telling Joseph of his dream and Joseph interpreting it.
King Pharaoh asking a magician to interpret his dreams for him.
Nice crown!
Magicians and sages try to interpret King Pharaoh's dreams to no avail.
King Pharaoh was so frustrated.
Until the wine taster told King Pharaoh of Joseph interpreting dreams in prison. Joseph was sent for and interpretted the king's dreams.
Joseph is now in charge of storing up food during the 7 years of abundance getting prepared for the 7 years of famine.
Such intense guards watching over the proceedings!
Continued in next box.
Old Jacob was worried that the family had no food and the cattle were dying due to the great famine.
Jacob and his beloved son Benjamin listened while his other sons pleaded with him to go to Egypt where they could buy food to bring back.
Joseph oversaw the distribution of food to many.
Joseph's brothers make the long journey to Egypt and need to stop part way to have a Chubby break!
Joseph sees his brothers and can't believe his eyes.
The brothers are scared and angry when Joseph accuses them of being spies and asks many questions of their father and youngest brother.
Jacob looks for his sons' return.
The sons gather round to tell him every detail of their treatment.
The sons return to Egypt with Benjamin and are treated to a feast hosted by Joseph.
The whole truth eventually comes out, the sons go to get Jacob and bring him back to Egypt to be reunited with Joseph. They carry him back (well sort of) on the 'royal chariot'.
And all are united and happy once again!
Especially the audience!!!!
Continued in next box.
