Air fare - Holy cow!

Every so often I like to do airfare searches just "to see" how the prices are at different times of the year. I just searched for airfare to depart 3 weeks from now, which normally yields dirt cheap fares, to fill up any empty seats.

Much to my surprise, I found airfare for double what I normally see! Now I do realize that fuel prices are rediculous right now, no doubt the cause of this horrible jump in rates, but maaaaan, who can afford these prices??? Anyhow, does anyone have any idea if these are ever going to go back down again?

I hope they do soon cuz it will be a huge factor in my summer visit. :-( It could kill the whole plan!

I would try Continental Airlines. I depends on where you are flying from and what days of the week you are flying. We are flying out of Boise, Idaho through Houston Leaving May 4 and Returning May 14. I booked our seats a couple of months ago and they were 447.00 each. I have been researching for October and they have been running arount 700.00. But I'm sure they will go down.

Know how you feel Mair - fares from the UK are terrible most of the time - sometimes after I've booked my flight I think I have just bought the airline..........lol

Yes, the airfares when I checked all the cheaptickets.com, etc sites were really bad. Try going to USAirways direct, we got $338 round trip from seattle just awhile back.

Hi, I don't know where you would be flying out of but just saw a promotion for the Carribean on the U S Airways site starting at $171. round trip. You would have to buy your tickets by April 18th and it is good for through the summer.

Hi Gill
Think I told you this before but check out the Thomson Website and the holiday flights to Mo Bay can be as little as £289 from Manchester when I just paid £560 with BA from Gatwick!!!
Hope you're ok...one love
