Hello all!
My spouse and I are coming to TB for our first Jamaica visit in August, and have been getting LOADS of great information from many lovely people on Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree Forum, including the idea that we could bring some much-needed school supplies with us. I would like to know first, if this would be okay to do, and second, what is needed? I want to bring whatever the kids want that maybe is not easy to obtain in Jamaica. Can anyone offer any ideas? Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care,
Pilar
aka Sonrisa Chica

Sonrisa Chica,
I checked with Rebecca about gifts for the local schools when you are visiting Treasure Beach.
She says school supplies are always useful. At least one school now has a DVD player, so they are also looking for educational DVD's or childrens movies on DVD for the school.

If you have further queries, contact her directly at treasuretours@cwjamaica.com

CHILD Organization has always worked closely with schools in Jamaica. We welcome and will distribute any school supplies--books, crayons, pencils, etc. Glasceta Honeyghan, the founder, can be contacted at glashoney@yahoo.com
