Once again we had the time of our life while vacationing in Treasure Beach. Once again we missed meeting Rebecca!!!LOL This time we were staying only a few chains away!
To everyone that sent me information on the route taxi's, a big up. We went to Santa Cruz via Worthwell and had a ball.
The callalo 'n cheese omelets at Hearts of Love bakery deserves a special big up.
Someone from our yard was with Kory when he landed the prize wahoo and Steve himself landed one that weighed in at 38 pounds! An internet friend, RobertM, The Reggae Ambassador, drove down from Negril and we had a good time. I think maybe we've got a new convert to Treasure Beach in the future.
I'm sorry to report that Winsomes, after rebulding after Charlie, could not afford to rebuild after Ivan and is no more and neither are the likkle beer bars near Golden Sands. The spirit of the people is very positve but tourism is slow so get out the word to your friends.
Kit (Chef) is going through some hard times and needs our help. He no longer has control of the Wild Onion and is unable to legally hold a job in Jamaica; this after being there for over 26 years. He is NOT looking for charity but with a little imagination I'm sure there are ways one can help.
The Pelican Bar is back and better than ever and is featured on huge billboards near Negril and also in Kingston.
I think either we or someone in our group ate at every restaurant in town and one was better than the next. I must admit that the Friday jerk pork and Saturday conch soup and jerk chicken at the M & D Grocery remains the dishes I most dream off when I'm stuck here in Milwaukee.
We just got hit with a good snowstorm so I'm off to shovel which doesn't seem fair but hey some people have never been to Treasure Beach so things could be worse so I'll count my blessings.

Great trip report, Mike. Sounds like you had another fun filled adventure. Any pictures?

Good luck with that snow...close your eyes and imagine you're standing next to a well cold Red Stripe :-)

Mike I'm constantly amazed at how I keep meeting up with such great people in a far away place. I make one phone call and we ask directions once and BOOM there you are! Red Stripe in hand, big friendly smile, firm handshake, being the gracious host without a second thought. I can only attribute it to devine guidance as even lady luck would never deliver such great results.

Our time in Treasure Beach was far too short but you certainly made sure we experienced all we could and trust me my friend, it was ALL good!

I'm glad that we are no longer just "internet friends" but finally friends that had a chance to share some moments in a place so very special to us both.

Thanks again to you and your friends. I had a BLAST and will look forward to playing some more pool at Fisherman's in the future! :-)

Hi there, I spoke with Coot about Winsome's restaurant and he assures me that it will be up and running within the next few months along with the bar!!!
