Blue Marlin / Coquina is in a lovely spot. It's on the best strip of beach in TB (in my opinion).

As with most private villas, you'll find your villa cook offers some of the best food to be found in Treasure Beach. And that's very much true at COQUINA as well as BLUE MARLIN, both in Great Bay, about a 10 min.drive from Calabash Bay and Jake's. Drinks at Jake's at sunset/cocktail hour is somewhat of a tradition. But as for meals there, check the latest review of Jake's from visitors from Surrey England on www.tripadvisor.com -- and others. The opinions span the spectrum.

I have heard that the food is wonderful but if we did want to go to a restaurant or bar, are there any close by...i.e within a five minute walk? How far is the walk to Jakes and Jack Sprat from Great Bay?

Ask DERRY or another staff member at BLUE MARLIN and COQUINA to get you a local driver. Gairy Brooks comes to mind...
The Beach Rock Bar & Grille on the border of Billy's Bay and Fort Charles will send a car/provide inexpensive transport both ways. Fisherman's Bar, a 10 min. drive or 20 min. mt.bike ride, is just up the lane from Jake's, best for drinks. South Jammin' is good for DJ music as well. Tiffany's, Jack Sprat in Calabash Bay, the latter serving good pizza and ice cream, are notable stops. Floating Deck on the Crane Road just outside Black River and Little Ochie in Alligator Pond (an hour by car or boat) are well worth the trip. Past the Pelican Bar up the Black River, Sister Lou's shack (go for the boiled crab and lime), is also a great spot. Still, your villa cooks will cook best.

hey booking, its about a 20 to 30 minute walk along the sea side, either by an age old track or along the reef in ankle deep water, its sand covered so not bad on the feet, you will walk over a natural bridge of coral formed by the crashing waves below, also pass some nice secluded coves along the way. just go and have a great time, you are sure to fall in love with great bay and all it has to offer. also,a stay at coquina, with its wonderful staff, will be a memorable vacation
walk good

That sounds great...thanks. But is there anywhere in your area to go out for a nice drink or dinner if I don't want to hike all the way to treaser beach

You can always get a taxi down to Frenchmans or Calabash.
