Has anyone been to Alligator Hole to see the manatee's lately?

My family and I were at Alligator Hole in early November and had the good luck to see all 3 manatees together at the view point.

Unfortunately, the boat used to take people down the river to see the manatees has been removed for repairs with no date given for its return. Sometimes you can get lucky and see them come up to the look-out area.

That was just a small rowboat when we were there in 2002. Repairs, huh?

It's pretty neat there for sure...my kids still talk about it.

I saw all three from the look out area. Go, it's worth the trip. On you way, check out Gut River where it meets the sea. You can walk for a quite a while on the beach with the river on one side and the sea on the other. It parallels for over a mile I think. The water from the river is clear and cool. We caught a crab in it. When it finally meets the sea the two churn together. It's kinda cool to stand there as the salt water meets the fresh. Great place for a picnic. We saw no one for the whole day we were there. A truly beautiful place.

Sounds interesting. I will try to get there this trip.
